This is the best post in the thread. Moss does not need to clear waivers, he is a FA.
I want him...sign him. Redskins 1 should be on it's way to Minnesota as we speak. All these years complaining about how we don't have a tall deep threat can be put to rest. At a minimum it should open up the passing game to the other guys on the roster and put Santana in the slot where he belongs.
Moss needs to clear waivers, he's not a FA |

At least, every major news site is reporting he does. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
If Randy Moss can play center or guard I'm all for it. Granted this team could use any up-grade available at the w/r position, but a quiter I don't think so. We don't need more drama, we do need someone who can block for the qb.

Yeah it's buried in all the verbiage. So it's easy to miss |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Well in another case of JLC vs the league:
JLC says Moss "NOT NOT NOT" on the waiver wire. NFL.com transactions list Moss as cut. as always, I am rooting against JLC's version. |

Here is the verbage from the link. Section 1. Release: (a) Whenever a player who has finished the season in which his fourth year of credited service has been earned under the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle Plan is placed on waivers between February 1 and the trading deadline, his contract will be considered terminated and the player will be completely free at any time thereafter to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with any Club, and any Club shall be completely free to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with such player, without penalty or restriction, including, but not limited to, Draft Choice Compensation between Clubs or First Refusal Rights of any kind, or any signing period. If the waivers occur after that time, the player’s Player Contract will be subject to the waiver system and may be awarded to a claiming Club. However, if such player is claimed and awarded, he shall have the option to declare himself an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the League Year in question if he has a no-trade clause in his Player Contract. If such player does not have a no-trade clause and the Player Contract being awarded through waivers covers more than one additional season, the player shall have the right to declare himself an Unrestricted Free Agent as set forth above at the end of the League Year following the League Year in which he is waived and awarded. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I would love to have Moss with the Redskins! He's a great target for McNabb! I would take him any day. Hope we get a chance.

Randy moss is trash.
He can catch though so i'd take him |

We need a receiver named Johnson, plain and simple. |

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I'm not giving my hopes up because he has to clear waivers and we're in the middle somewhere...
But you gotta get him,if he's there man! Just having Moss alone would do so much for this team. It would roll the coverage away from little moss and give us a true #1 WR. Dropping Armstrong as the #3 and facing a teams nickle CB/S. Cooley would benefit from this as well and our running game. Not to mention,it's perfect for what Mcnabb does best..throw the deep ball,up for grabs..lol. Nobody in the league is better at grabbing those balls up top and deep...nobody He's still pretty fast and younger than ole' Galloway. and a whole lot better than Roydel who never plays... If he's there..you HAVE to make a claim for him... Specially, when your benching your QB in the last 2 minutes of a game... Give Mcnabb an actual WR crew for once in his life,so he can be properly evaluated please... Randy Moss at #1 Santana Moss at #2 Anthony Armstrong at #3 Joey galloway at #4 And Brandon banks at #5 cut either Roydell or Galloway (I would cut Roydel cause Joey can at least get SOME separation and has the experience) Now THAT is a decent WR core... But it makes so much since...it probably won't happen.. |

Yep stick a fork in us and put a toothpick in you as far as I am concerned. Another loss to the Lions. Misery loves company :). Seriously u can't think your team is better than the Giants and Philly with Vick playing the whole game. If you do I can't change your mind. Dallas is the worst team in the NFL or the team with the worst passion to play. |

Who cares about there skin color? although we need an offensive line which some people don't seem to understand. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
BTW...this is the accurate waiver wire.
Buffalo Bills Dallas Cowboys Carolina Panthers San Francisco 49ers Denver Broncos Minnesota Vikings Detroit Lions Cleveland Browns Cincinnati Bengals San Diego Chargers Arizona Cardinals Washington Redskins St. Louis Rams Oakland Raiders Jacksonville Jaguars Seattle Seahawks Philadelphia Eagles Miami Dolphins Chicago Bears Tennessee Titans New Orleans Saints Green Bay Packers Indianapolis Colts Houston Texans Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pittsburgh Steelers New York Jets New York Giants Kansas City Chiefs Baltimore Ravens Atlanta Falcons New England Patriots We sit at #12 -------------------------------- We need 11 teams to pass on his 6 million dollar salary or whatever it is for this year, for us to get him. (presuming Shanny even wants him) |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
And you guys thought benching McNabb was drama. Read what Adam S. just posted:
FWIW, being told WR Randy Moss is open to returning to Minnesota. Whether it happens is anyone's guess. |

Why is ESPN reporting Moss has not been officially released?

However, Moss was partially to blame for Favre getting knocked out of the game because he did his characteristic "give up" moment. |

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
And another thing...Isn't Moss, the big WR guy that helps Kyle Shanahan offense go?
He had that in Andre Johnson when with the texans... We do not have anything like that here. Which is one of the reasons why many wanted Vincent Jackson cause he would have given us that target. (with the cost of who knows with draft picks) Now we have a chance to get moss for...nothing except the price for this seasons 1-year rental. |

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Per Mort:
Reports: Brad Childress acted alone on Moss; has "lost the locker room" Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 1, 2010 7:04 PM ET It's not a new phenomenon to hear that Vikings players aren't exactly enamored with their head coach Brad Childress. The events of Monday, after he told his team that he was going to release Randy Moss, may have been a tipping point for player unrest. ESPN's Chris Mortensen said on SportsCenter Monday evening that Childress has "lost the locker room." "He really has," Mortensen said. "The players are not Childress guys right now. There's a sense there, 'does this head coach really know what he's doing?' That's the truth. You talk to people in that locker room, that's what you you're gonna get from them." You have to wonder how strongly the front office remains "Childress guys" at this point. Childress did not tell management about his plan to cut Moss, according to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi. Childress has control over the 53-man roster, but this seems like a curious, if not self-destructive, time for Childress to go rogue and make a power play. Moss curiously hasn't been officially waived yet. Still, it's hard to imagine any scenario where Moss would return, no matter how much his new Vikings teammates and some members of the organization want Moss back. Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Moss wouldn't return at this point, even if asked. Childress and Moss can't coexist at this point. The question is whether Childress can co-exist with the rest of his players in that locker room. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Chilly is definitely done in Minnesota.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Imagine what a cast of characters we would have on this team if Randy Moss did actually come down here.
We would have Mr. "I'm not a good fit" for the 3-4 on the defensive line. We'd have Mr. "This is my defense and I don't care what the coaches say" in the secondary and Mr. "I'll play when I want too on offense. Now, if that wouldn't be enough to drive Mr accountability crazy, I don't know what would. |
