Shanny is a moron. Should have held out for the entire season and PUNISHED HIM. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH /sticking my toungue out at a certain Schneed fellow. |
Since we are on the subject of BIGGEST BUSTS OF ALL TIME. Let me list some of the ex-Redskins most of us would like to forget. Not in any particular order. Jeff George, Jeremiah Trotter, Dana Stubblefield, Adam Archuleta, Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Antwaan Randle El, Mark Brunell, Laveranues Coles and Brandon Lloyd.
LC wasn't a bust at all... he just started whining. he played well even after his injury, but he got really slow. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
LC wasn't a bust.
I wouldn't call Bruce Smith a bust either. He was productive in 2000, we just held on to him for too long to let him get his sack record. 29 sacks in 4 seasons, meh, but far from a bust. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
AH was worth at least another low round pick. I am glad we dumped him for something, but still. How many picks do the Pats have next year? Do they have the standard 11 that has been the norm the past few seasons? I am not upset, but I think we could have sqeeked another low round pick out of the deal. AH will help them out a lot on their D line.

Only one TD reception, and that was at the end of 2000 I think if I am not mistaken. Deion comes in at second. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
And Brunell did at least get us to the playoffs in 2005, so not a bust.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
AH will either buy into the Pats culture and be a monster or he won't buy in and be gone in a year. My gut is pride/spite will be enough to motivate him (highly) for a cpl/few years. He also wants a ring. Getting to the pro-bowl takes consecutive years of dominance so yeah I can see him in it next year.
...bottom line is our d-line is a sad mess.
Cofield > Kemo/ Stainsworthless Bowen > Daniels or Carriker J. Jenkins > Jarmon Seems to me that they've done nothing but improve, yet you are up here slamming them? I hate this Madden generation of fans who swear they are better GMs/Scouts/HCs than the ones who've done this for 20+ years. Fans lately have be annoying the **** out of me since FA started. Again, I see why Dan Snyder is the way he is. He's just like a great deal of fans I see across different forums. SIGN NNAMDI!! SIGN HOLMES! SIGN EDWARDS!! SIGN JENKINS!! One after another, they want all the big ticket items just like our moronic owner Dan Snyder did. The way I look at it, lets review some stupid moves so far this FA: Panthers: Over paid big time to keep Williams/Johnson Jets: Over paid big time to keep Holmes and probably will overpay for Nnamdi as well. Arizona: Gave up a good CB and 2nd rounder as well as a 63 million contract for a unproven guy. All bone headed moves that could have been made by us, but our GMs are a bit smarter it would seem. |

Disagree. He was a bust when you factor in the salary and compensation we gave up. HUGE bust. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Well, it goes back to what you consider a bust.
To me a bust is a guy that straight up can't play. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell types. Brunell was disappointing for the most part here, but he did put together a pretty decent 2005 season. I think the word bust gets tossed around a little too liberally. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
brunell was only good for 2-4 games a season... the problem was asking him to play more. man that was some ugly football.

Are you sure it looks like he's taking the conditioning test. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Brunell wasn't a bust if for no other reason than the Cowboys game when he aired it out twice to Santana in the final 2 minutes! One of my favorite Skins memories!

Thing is we did overpay for him for the overall field of work that he gave us. How many playoff seasons did Gus have? Thought so. The most exciting thing he did was head butt a concrete wall. |

Frerotte to Westbrook.
Greater than Montana to Rice? |

Nothing.....so the only thing we are out of is the cash that was already paid....big deal. Where will lost out was the draft pick investment in McNabb. And btw....Haynesworth is a major loser...its never good to rub shoulders with a selfish underachiever prima dona on a team sport...our mistake was ignoring the warnings and signing him anyways...the warnings are still out there for the Patriots and they spent more in draft picks than we did...I am fine with that. |

I think there ought to be a rule about how many times you can use a Gus Frerotte reference. You know, the way NFL teams can only have 14 practices with pads over the course of the season. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Just watch, when Albert plays us later this year, he's going to have 4 sacks. Belichiek got Randy Moss for a 4th and look how that one worked. Same with Corey Dillon. Just watch..

Such a situation can occur even when Fat AL is motivated because he believes in freelancing so much. See, AH is completely in "his own zone" in-game. He CAN'T be reasoned with during that time. So, I think it is very possible to bait him into the silliest shit. |

Don't you know? That actually is Gus Frerotte. He just keeps trying to drum up interest in himself on these message boards in the hopes of putting his name out there so he can make a comeback in the NFL. Poor man. I think the headbutt actually did some brain damage up there. Just let him promote himself. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
well we play the pats and the Vikings this yr.. both should be interesting games..

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Haynesworth was a problem when Zorn was still the coach. Zorn sent his butt home for being let to practice on Xmas day. Then after the season was over he complained about playing in Greg Blache system saying he was use to attacking style in Tennesse. Then when Shanny became coach and he roster bonus of 20 million was due in April of 2010 he took the check. Once he got the money he decided not to attend OTA's. He cried about playing NT and showed up to camp out of shape. What a waste of money on a player who has all the physical tools to be great but has the mind set of a child. Thanks Shanny for getting rid of this Big Fat Loser.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Maybe it was discussed but I have a question of which I have been worried about since the talk of trading AH started. So no one wanted to trade with the Eagles and having AH remain in the division to play us twice this year. I understand that even though I don't think he would be a factor anymore.
So we go out and trade AH to another 3/4 defense of which he has said he does not want to play in. Which makes me really suspicious as to why the Patriots would want him then. Which brings me to my main worry and question.... Can the Patriots now trade him to the Eagles? See I kept saying lets just trade him to the Eagles and get the best deal. They want him, his old DC or line coach needs him. No one else was going to give us a better deal. So again what is stopping the Patriots from now makeing a trade with the Eagles for a higher draft pick? |

They've been losing their 3-4 personnel. Darth Hoody is a guru at defensive scheming and has the tendency to adjusting his scheme to player's strengths. AH aside, I wouldn't be surprise if this season they go completely 4-3. I would be curious to know if there was a better offer from the Eagles, if there was an offer at all. |
