Looks like Laron is less than thrilled with the medical staff as well:

LaRon Landry deletes tweet about Redskins medical staff | ProFootballTalk

I imagine he'll get a talking to about this one.

EDIT: oops, I'm really late to the party on this one. Busy day for me yesterday. Don't know how I missed it. Sorry. I'll leave it up and take my lumps.

Yeah, it popped up in my timeline the other day and I was like I wonder who he's bitching at about his injury.

Peyton Manning was just as frustrated for the same reason apparently. The lockout prevented players from getting treatment/rehab from team doctors and medical staff.

I know that Landry retracted his words, but some of the frustration sounded alot like MK's. It seems like we have a good training staff, but anyone else hear those type of frustrations?

ughhh i guess its official now, great! Hamstrings do not like the Redskins. on a good note his achileis and wrist are good. Hopefully we get him back by week 2. And for anyone saying hes immature, hes just upset, he loves the game, he apologized and took the blame i think he handled it good.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That Oline is going to end romos career this year. You heard it here folks. Romo will not start next year for the cowgirls. They trade us Dez Bryant for John Beck in the offseason, hahahaha!

They can keep Dez and his self entitled thug self. Id take Rowdy before i signed any of those overrrated cats. And doesnt Romo fracture his rectum often?? I heard his condition is also degenterative, so its only gona get worse for him.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

I hate to bring unfounded optimism to the table, but did any of you guys notice that the Redskins gave up a GRAND total of 0 points in the first quarter this preseason? Pittsburgh....the Ravens....the Colts.....these are not terrible teams! Yes, the first quarter of preseason is a good indicator of how far along you are. Anyone remember how we use to look very bad in the first quarter of preseason, only to come back later and win in the 4th? [Spurrier] That was a very bad omen, and a good look into how we really stacked up against the competition. How about under Marty? We looked flat and discombobulated. [can't believe I spelled that word correctly!]

I didn't see LL on the field....anywhere. I saw Reed Doughty all over the place and filling in more than adequately as a replacement, though. I saw lots of pressure - QB's running for there lives. I saw Swarming LB's and a D-line that pushed people around like it was closing time.

Having Landry would be nice....we don't HAVE to have him though, you have that luxury when you have a good, young, DEEP team.
I am hoping we take advantage of all their weaknesses, one of those is ST coverage units. I am hoping Banks takes their first punt all the way (no flags Riley!) and they start popping those suckers out of bounds for a 30yd net punt avg. The back of our D is very much a ball hawk unit now, so I agree 2+ Ints for Eli is likely, and won't start their year off very well. I also expect we will be trying to flank or short pass over their DLine, which is the main strength at this point.

If we don't win, it will be because of our mental mistakes more than the NYG outplaying us. And I don't expect many mental mistakes from the starters at this point.
Hopefully Eli will have such a horid game it throws the rest of the season off track with the other problems they have going on. Having Landry out won't hurt our "ball hawk secondary" just our run def. I think.

Any time, any place, is a good time & place to randomly rag on the Cowboys. Just to be clear: COWBOYS SUCK COWBOYS SUCK COWBOYS SUCK!!!

Try it, you'll see just how much fun it is!
I think it's overhyped. The players are different an while it's an emotional day, it isn't like it happened last year. If that really gives a team more motivation then they aren't professionals. I don't buy into bulletin board stuff either.
I don't know brother...to me it still seems like yesterday, and I hope it always does.

I can see the guys on the field getting extra pumped, a little extra adrenaline flowing than usual on Sunday - both sides.

Surely that doesn't make them unprofessional.

I bet pretty much every player can tell you where they were that day. Throw in the first game jitters, the "Yay America!!" hype, I bet both sides are pumped.

hey if we lose its the first step into getting a real franchise qb in andrew luck :-)

Shanahan's second year with Bronco's

His team led the league in rushing. 2,362 yds

They were 4th in scoring. 391 points

They were 13-3.

They were 4th in total offence. 5,791 yds.

The year before> [1995] they were 8-8.

It's not a stretch to seeing us doing well this week! :silly:

His team also had John Elway, not Rex Grossman. There's a little difference between the two wouldn't you say?

Did John Elway run the football?

He was good this year, but not his best season. It was the running, that got them the SB.

No, but you'd be lying to yourself if you think the quarterback doesn't impact the run game. A good passing game keeps defenses honest and prevents them from stacking the box for fear of getting burned.

Sometimes it does, not as much as you might think. The redskins ran the ball like crazy in 1985 without very good QB play from Thiesman.

Mooby, we need John Elway to compete?

He had very good numbers that year [1996]....like I said, it wasn't his best year, though.

No, we don't. If the run game can be effective all Grossman needs to do is manage the game, and maybe chuck it deep once or twice. I'm just sayin, the 2011 Redskins offense is not the 1996 Broncos offense.

Mort (11:09 AM)

Agree. I was thinking Giants could be a surprise team - they are physical, they will run and in WR can make plays but too many injuries. I see Redskins' running game being a major factor with Hightower.

Sort of meant, was he a running back? No, he was fleet footed even at 35, but he did not carry the load. That's my point. :smashfrea

As the reigning prediction champ (wilsowilso won the Super Bowl score prediction thread- one point from exact score for both teams)

I predict.

Skins 30
Giants 20

Giants barely beast a hobbled Redskins team last year. I don't think it is a stretch to believe the skins will beat them. They will beat them in close game. Skins simply have too many weapons and they are playing a depleted team at home.

24-17 skins.

This Redskins defense is going to kick ass!!! Add that to the fact that we're going to run the ball down their throats......
