I think they would be turned down. We are golden with that #2 pick. |

Is it sad that when you mention James Brown all I can think of is the Eddie Murphy 'too hot for the hot tub' snl sketch? Crazier things have happened. |
Re: The Pro Days Thread
No to that trade. We finally have our quarterback. Keep him, put whatever weapons around him you can, show confidence in him, and rally the squad, being on the brink of a new, winning era of Redskins football.
HAIL!!!!! |
Re: The Pro Days Thread
Oh hell yeah NO to that trade. It's true what they say about RG3 he just flicks the ball really no effort behind it.

Even though I've had Griffin ahead of Luck for my overall QB board for awhile, http://www.thewarpath.net/nfl-draft-central/45369-2012-qb-prospects-part-2-a-21.html#post864528, I have Luck ahead of Griffin for this team because I think Luck is a safer pick. The less assembly required i.e. coaching, teaching etc. the better. I see Luck as a more plug and play QB then Griff. I believe Luck's crisp footwork in the timing/rhythm drop back passing game is a huge plus; its an AP level QB class that Griff doesn't have yet, along with pro-style/pro-concept pre-snap reads. I have very little doubt that Griff can learn these skills but it comes with assembly. Luck has 'less assembly required'. Either way we get a great prospect. |

Gil Brandt just said the colts were in full force today. Also said one coach told him that they were definitely considering both. I seriously hope that Luck amazes tomorrow.

We didnt suck for Luck but we may get stuck with Luck. |
Colts will take luck but even if they don't we r still great w either

Sarcasm intended.
Its a wonderful problem to have. |
Re: The Pro Days Thread
Big winner today? Kendall Wright and his 4.43 40, erasing his slow time at the Combine.
|
Re: The Pro Days Thread
I definitely prefer RG3 over Luck. While I think the Colts will draft Andrew Luck, I don't think it's a 100% lock.
|
Re: The Pro Days Thread
People it's a pro day. Everyone should look good throwing in shorts and tee shirts. John Beck would look good at a pro day. But I do hope the Colts don't change their mind. I think RG3 is just what this orgainization needs.

I look at it this way, only someone like Griffin could take the greatest QB prospect in 2 or 3 decades and give people pause. Of course Luck's pro day will be tomorrow, everyone will be wowed and suddenly it'll go back from "settling for Luck" to settling for RG3." |

Freaking hilarious. SNL hasn't been as funny since. I recall his bit about being the 5th Beatle, Clarence, who was ripped off by the other band members. Also a classic. |
Re: The Pro Days Thread
Everybody is in love with RGIII but don't underestimate Luck, he will impress as much as RGIII. I would be happy with either one, no reason to be bummed out if RGIII gets drafted by the Colts.
|
Re: The Pro Days Thread
RG3 looked like an NFL quarterback working under center. He was able to make all of the throws like everyone expected. He dropped back to pass, and made hit his throws. He was able to roll out and then make the throws. I'm sure Mike Shanahan was pleased with what he saw.

It was just a pro day, I don't know how you can determine that from throwing in shorts and T-shirts. John Beck looked good in this system in the preseason in shorts and T-shirts. |

Re: The Pro Days Thread
I didn't watch the tryout so I have some questions:
1- Was RGIII being pressured while making the throws? 2- How was the tryout conducted? 3- Did he have to do the same things as the combine? |

Think about what we're dealing with. Throwing the ball in shorts and running 40's. Basically a huge focus on physical tools and all this before Luck has thrown a single pass for scouts. Scouts are watching tape and seeing Luck make adjustments at the line of scrimmage and find his third receiver on multiple occasions. The 70%+ completion percentage in a pro style offense also holds more weight then one in a spread system among many other factors. See I hate this, this makes me sound like I'm anti RG3 and/or that Griffin is all physical tools while Luck is all mental tools. They're both extremely smart and amazing athletes. You don't loose in getting one of these QB's. However right now there are way to many people, at least around Redskin nation, that don't appreciate the type of prospect Luck is. |

He ran a 4.46 I believe. Thats pretty impressive for a 241 pound hb. He also showed his ability to catch the ball. |

I think a lot of fans and pundits are just caught in the rg3 hype because he's the bigger story. I hate the comparison but luck is like manning and rg3 is like a better Michael Vick. Both are excellent qbs. One is better, but the other is more exciting. I'd be thrilled with either. Luck is safer, but rg3s upside is almost limitless. |

Re: The Pro Days Thread
Who was better Magic or Bird? I say why compare the two -- they are both great. I think RG3's skill set would serve the skins better while Luck's skill set would serve the colts better. I think the people who are sleeping on RG3 underestimate his decision making ability and those who sleep on Luck underestimate his athleticism. I think both qb's would thrive in skins' system next year.

Because he's just as good, has played in a pro style offense, has proven that he can play and is also very smart and athletic. Think of him as a Tom Brady that can run, can run people over, makes quick decisions, etc. I've watched the guy play around for a few years here and believe me he's as good as advertised. I prefer Luck I'm more familiar with him, but would not be one bit upset if RGIII is our QB. |
