Congrats to the Heat!
I get it. Still think it's stupid. Especially when he's hated for all the wrong/imagined reasons
He will always be disliked for the following reasons: The Decision He got a ring in the "wrong " way Short season Refs Flopper Complainer Not clutch Not Jordan The Decision and his flopping/complaining will always rub me the wrong way (mainly the latter), but I don't hate him. He's a great player and deserves props. |

The only reason I would have for not liking him is how he (perhaps with some help) repeatedly stopped the Wizards in the playoffs |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Well deserved championship for Lebron and the Heat. Lebron has really grown up in a short amount of time and delievered on everything he promised. He's the best player in the league and now one of the best all time.
I cant think of a more disappointing performance in the finals than the Thunder. Really showed the over hype of this team coming in. They got a TON of growing together to do. And personally dont think Westbrook and Durant can co exist on that team together. This probably going to be another Marbury and Garnett situation. |

Didn't mention that because that's more of a DC thing and I figure that's not something unique to LeBron (Utah hates MJ for ex.). |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Interesting, never thought of the Marbury/Garnett comparison

Fair enough. To be clear it irks me pretty equally when I see others flop or surround the ref complaining. Just shuttup and play. |

I totally agree. I am big Celtics fan and Paul Pierce may have just pushed past Bird as my favorite Celtic of all time but he is one of the worst complainers of them all. |

I think it was more Marbury being a flop then them not working together. Must have been weird when Marbury came to the C's a few years back. |

There was an NBA PLayoff. Who won.LOL

Nickleback (well at least the NBA's version of the team) |

Must have been weird when Marbury came to the C's a few years back.
Marbury and Garnett were explosive together and considered the best 2 young players in the game at the time. They went to the playoffs, couldnt get over the hump...but the problem was Marbury's (PG=Westbrook) ego was huge and couldnt stand playing second fiddle to Garnett (Durant) the more talented player. Garnett got the big contract and more praise for the rising team. Eventually Marbury was moved because of his attitude and ego...I kinda see it in Westbrook. |

Just about every sport I will turn on when they get to the final game, match, series, but I don't think I watched any basketball playoffs. |

Not only did he kill Skip, but he demolished Stephen A. Smith as well. Loved that bit about his 2 year old breaks down film and knows more about basketball than both of them....hahahaha :laughing2 I love Mark Cuban. I wished he owned the Redskins. What a joy to listen to. He also gets bonus points for wearing a "Smurfs" t-shirt on ESPN. Hands down, the best owner of all the pro-sports. Smoot, can you put in a few good words at ESPN to get Cuban hired on full time? Thanks in advance. |

I think Cuban is great, but I don't really think he killed him.

Well, he is a bit of an ass. But that's besides the point. Plus, he often says many of the same things JQ public says...and the rest of the time, JQ Public doesn't really hear what he's saying anyway |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Cuban is right how the media gets hung up on stupid crap like: a team or particular player "wanted it more", and they run with it like it's a legit talking point over x's and o's.
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
It annoys me when anyone says that. There's no way of knowing

Not sure if we saw the same video between him and Skip then but Skip got owned on national TV. He got exposed for being "entertainer" instead of doing his job and watching film like a good sports journalist probably should. (that is if you are going to be commenting on it personally) http://lybio.net/tag/mark-cuban-calls-out-skip-bayless-debate-transcription/ Dude made Skip look like a clueless twit. (which he is) |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
You don't know Skip, so you probably shouldn't make an assumption on him.
But whatever, all I'm saying is...it's unfortunate the show (partly due to Skip's own doing) leads people to think Skip has no idea what he's talking about. I 100% guarantee you the conversation they had off-camera was totally different |

I don't know Skip so I'm not speaking of his actual knowledge in general. However, once he's in front of the camera, he turns into a clueless twit and makes comments about stuff he really doesn't know or understand, to which Cuban pointed out. I have mad respect for journalist that study film of the games they are commenting on and know what's going on before they comment on it. edit: I don't doubt for a second their off-camera exchange was much much different. |

He's a victim (again partly self-inflicted) of the show he's on. And that's all I'm going to say about that

Why would he do that to himself though? Hard to imagine a good journalist selling out on being the hated guy, just so he can be famous? (or that is what is appears) |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
I think a lot of guys in the media play roles for the sake of whatever show they're on.
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Anyway we can set a Q&A with Skip? People seem to be obsessed with this guy. He sux, moving on...

He's always been that way. Maybe that's what he thrives on? I don't really know. Sometimes you just have to go where you're put. There are a lot of people who are probably in the wrong spot on-air at ESPN, but such is life everywhere. |
