Why do people keep bringing up LG? Kouanjio has proven he can play and will be our LG of the future. We need DT, OLB pass rusher, ILB and S. we will be set.
My mention about LG was that we need to get better play from that position.

If that's Kouandijo, so be it, but he didn't beat out Lauvao this year and LG hasn't been a strong suit for us.

Not necessarily, we can get in with either two Detroit losses or a GB loss

Detroit is the last game for the Pack, so that needs to be a Lions win. I think Dallas is going to rest their guys, while the Lions will go for the gusto. I just don't see the Lions collapsing.

Dallas has already said they won't rest starters and will play to win due to the last time they were 12-4 and rested players and lost to NY in the playoffs.

Dallas has another game after Monday plus a bye before their first playoff game, if they rest their starters that'll be almost a month of no playing time...

We should be ok with su'a cravens at safety next year. We have close to 10 picks in the draft, we should be able to find some starting talent.
I blame him for the Bengals game for sure, he is at fault for Detroit but I dont 100% put that on him, Matt Jones fumbling going into the endzone hurt too

If Detroit loses tomorrow I'm 100% rooting for them in week 17. Like Detroit much more than Green Bay.

Yes, correct, because either way one of them (Green Bay or Detroit) would be 9-7, and our 9-6-1 record would be better.

if det beats dal, we would then need det to beat gb (and we would need to win).

That sounds a lot better than saying we have to root for the Cowboys to win tonight. That will be two weeks in a row rooting for the Cowboys, yuck!

Re: Playoff hunt!

I think the best scenario for us would be for Detroit to lose to Dallas this week and beat GB next week, assuming that we beat the NYG in our final game. Then, in the playoffs, we would face Matthew Stafford who has an injured finger on his throwing hand rather than the red hot Aaron Rodgers. Also, we would play indoors in Detroit rather than on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

Assuming Detriot loses tonight, they have incentive against GB next week right?

that's right. if they lose tonight, and we win next week. they have to beat gb to make the playoffs.

if det loses tonight > and we win next week > the winner of the det vs gb game will win the division and the loser will miss the playoffs > (if they tie, they both get in and we miss the playoffs)

play around w this thing, it's awesome 2016 NFL Playoff Machine - Simulate Matchups and Scenarios - ESPN

We wouldn't even have to be talking about scenarios if these dopes had handled business this past Monday night. Still not over that shit showing of an effort.

Re: Playoff hunt!

Easier just to have Detroit go 0-2. That is more likely than them beating the Pack indoors. The
Pack is peaking and Detroit seems to have stagnated. The Lions have to get back into mid season form to win that game.

I am with you on that. That is why
I am not so sure they deserve the playoffs, but then again, half of these playoff teams are just backing into the playoffs as well. We can beat the
G-Men, but our defense better be fired up!!!!!

I think if we even had close to an average kicker we would have. Isn't Hopkins #1 in the NFL for missed kicks this year?

Hopkins cost us 2 maybe 3 games this year. We could be 10 - 5 if Hopkins has a better season.

If we get in as the 6th seed, shouldn't we play the 3rd seed. I thought we would play the Seahawks in Seattle. Dallas and Atlanta will have week one off; 3 plays 6, 4 plays 5.

Giants will play Lions or GB, We play Seattle.

If we had gone 10 - 6 or 11 - 5 would our opinion of the Joe Barry be different? Would we have a more positive outlook going into the playoffs.

I guess Gruden / Scott M doesn't want to take the chance that Hopkins is just "off", and would go on and be a reliable player somewhere else, which has been the problem with some of our kickers that we've released. That being said, i think you bring in another leg in training camp next year and if Hopkins struggles you release him, but at least give him another off-season to see if he gets better..
The Buccaneers have not been eliminated just yet. In addition to a Week 17 win, Tampa Bay needs the Cowboys to beat the Lions, the Buccaneers to beat the Panthers, the Colts to beat the Jaguars, the Cowboys to beat the Eagles, the Lions to beat the Packers, the Titans to beat the Texans, the 49ers to beat the Seahawks and, finally, the Redskins and Giants to tie. There’s still a chance!
I had expected it to come down to us and Tampa, I'm shocked to see GB playing so well.

You know your chances are slim when you're depending on the outcome of a game between two teams from the other conference :laughing-
