Re: Redskins Free Agents List
We need Garcon back!!!
Impending free agent DeSean Jackson said he plans to "test the market." "This is the first time in my career I'll hit the free-agent market," Jackson said, "so I'm definitely intrigued about seeing what's going to happen and test the market and see what's going on." Jackson made those comments in December, and the Redskins reportedly have not discussed a new deal with him since the end of the season, suggesting he still plans to hit free agency. If Washington wants Jackson back, they will have to beat out plenty of competition including perhaps the Rams and the Eagles, who drafted Jackson in 2008. Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan reports the Redskins have yet to open contract talks with impending free agent Pierre Garcon. Washington has also not spoken with DeSean Jackson about a new deal since the end of the season, increasing the likelihood both receivers bolt in free agency. Still, negotiations usually do not kick into high gear until the Combine, so the Redskins have time to work out a deal with either Garcon or Jackson if they so choose. It still seems unlikely Washington lets both veterans walk, especially considering 2016 first-round pick Josh Doctson's health remains in question. |

Keim reply with zero hesitation: "DL, DL, DL" |

Ricky Jean probably take a pay cut to stay and I think he is a solid rotational player. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I'm really surprised we haven't heard anything about Kirk Cousins, Pierre Garcon, or DeSean Jackson. You would think something would be heating up in terms of negotiations now. Garcon even sounded like he's ready to sign an extension with the team, just give him a pen. Jackson, although, I think he's been *gone* for some time now. Letting it leak to the press about how he's eyeing a return to Philly, and then getting upset that he wasn't included in the picture the 'skins released.
Just hope Doctson is healthy and ready to go. I think we can do OK without Jackson, but we need Garcon back. |

Also according to Kiem things pickup during and after the combine when all the agents, gms, coaches and owners are in the same place. It helps set the tone for market value which then allows the players and teams to have a better idea what the market really is not what agent x, player y or team z thinks it is. |

Good point! I know some players were ready to negotiate and some have already signed, but of course we're talking about deals that don't break the bank so to speak. |

I think they might just do that. Then the Skins would have $76.75M in cap space. They could do a lot of good with that much cap space. |

They should keep Niles Paul in my opinion over Carrier, he's a ST stud and will be 28 YO.

No doubt, he's had some tough breaks lately with injuries but he's definitely worth taking the chance on. I would re-ink him in a heartbeat. |

I think it takes about a couple years to fully recover from the injury he had, so I'm still high on Niles Paul. Thank God we had Vernon Davis this past year, but I think if Niles Paul can get back to how he was playing before he got hurt, Paul can be just as effective as Davis. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Of the two WRs, we have to keep one. Jax is my choice based on what he uniquely offers. As far as all the philly talk and this and that if you follow him on twitter and instagram since the season ended he has posted pics of and put out an image of staying in Washington. Hell he even posted stuff about his grandmas birthday a week or so ago and she was wearing Skins stuff. Between pics of him working out at Redskins park a couple days ago and what he has been posting the guy wants to stay here.
Garçon has decided be the same. Neither guy is unhappy staying here in Washington and what they both have put out publicly straight from themselves and not ex team mates or sources say they want to be in DC |

Those two plus a healthy Doctson (we hope), plus Crowder and Reed? With those receivers, Cousins should pay us to stick around. We do have a fair bit of cap $. Everything I have read suggests we will keep only one, but I am not sure I have ever seen an explanation why other than $. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
The Washington Post reports the Rams, Eagles, Bears, Cowboys and 49ers are all expected to have varying degrees of interest in free agent Pierre Garcon.
Coming off the second 1,000-yard season of his career, Garcon has said he wants to remain in Washington, but he could quickly get priced out of their range in free agency. Going on 31, Garcon is durable, consistent and sure-handed. He'd be reuniting with Sean McVay in Los Angeles. We gotta bring back Garçon. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I would hate to see Pierre in Dallas. If he goes please go to San Fran or LA
|
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I don't want PG anywhere but here. That dude is everything you want in a teammate and a player. His kind of compete and toughness doesn't grow on trees. Enough guys that compete like him and you win championships.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Garcon will be back if the price is right. And I have no idea what that price would be. This will probably be his last contract and I doubt there will be hometown discounts.

8 mill per would get it done imo....I don't think that would be an issue. Look at our current money invested in receivers going into this year...Dotson, Crowder, Grant...they all on rookie deals still? We got room to give Garcon at least starter money. |

I think PG will get more money on the open market than he'd get here. Everyone loves what he brings to a team but at 8 million? I'd have to say goodbye to him for that price, if he gets an offer like that.

i mostly agree, jason hatcher worked out so well for us. on the other hand, i look at someone like eric weddle to the ravens. he was about the same age and got a similar contract to that of hatcher, if i'm not mistaken. he went out and had 13 passes defended, 4 ints, and a forced fumble last season - solid contributions. |
