NFL Draft Round 1 Thread
All the top OT who can start right away are gone in the draft. Even the last OT picked was described as a “project player”. There are team with new QB, or old ones (Brady) who need to protect that asset. The smoke in the last couple days about Trent being worth a first rounder was just more pre-draft garbage. Trent MAY get us a second rounder, but I suspect at this point they will take a third and a fourth or fifth. Why??
Because Trent is better than anyone left on the draft. He’s a very good player in the QB blind spot. He’s got a couple good years left and is a proven leader. Meanwhile, the limited interest in Trent over the last months has perhaps cooled his jets (no pun intended) toward his crazy, $20 mil yr salary idea. I’m sure that idea, perhaps planted there by his butthead agent, has met the cold reality of his age and limited years left. We’ll take less and he will take less. SO DON’T DESPAIR! A trade will still happen. Anything we get above our #66 will help us. My prediction is that our #66 or something higher will go to the best TE available - Kmet, Trautman, etc. If they are gone then the best WR or OT available. Now we will see if Kyle Smith can pull out some starters from the lower draft or UDFA, like he did last year! We have holes and need depth. |

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
You're buying the hype like the media typically does. They've practically added someone to take the place of Randall Cobb (who the Cowboys lost in free agency). Lamb is more known for his ability to track the ball aka ball skills (he has a high level of doing so). He has some burst but isn't exactly known as a burner, per se'. He still needs some fine tuning on his route running, and the Big 12 was akin to a "pillow fight" when it came to defensive competition. Lamb may very well work out for Dallas, but if it had been Jeudy or Ruggs III drafted by Dallas, then I might have some concernment (keyword: might). |

Re: NFL Draft Round 1 Thread
Packers wtf? 13-3 and a small win now window left and they somewhat reach on Rodgers replacement? Fucking terrible. Could have taken a difference maker to win now. Should have.

I can see if Tua had slipped but this was a reach imo regardless. |
Re: NFL Draft Round 1 Thread
Rodgers could play another 3, 4 or even 5 years. Don't see how that pick makes any sense.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I agree on offense, they have a top 5 unit in talent in the league with or without lamb. They are bottom third on the defense side tho and I’m pretty damn happy they didn’t get the DL from South Carolina or the pass rusher from LSU. The Eagles though...man the guy they wanted was Ruggs. He was no1 WR on their board. Eagles would have taken Lamb or Jeudy. They reached big time. |

Agree they need help everywhere on offense. Oline, WR, RB, TE...why not for once help Rodgers? The front office has done a fuckin terrible job surrounding him with talent. Look at Dallas...they know Dak isn’t a top ten QB, but they have gone out of there way to give him help |

In the championship game AR just looked like he didn't want to be there. Not motivating his teammates, just about as aloof as it gets. Just a guess but I believe the Packers felt like after that ( plus he's 36) they needed to have a replacement plan in place. The top organizations always draft QB's. What if GB decided to pass on AR when they had Farve? They definitely wouldn't have someone playing that's better than he is. |

Not sure I can take another night of the ESPN nonsense. That was brutal last night.

Maybe that's just who they had as the best available at the time...dont we always talk about how good teams draft bpa, and bad teams draft for need? Just spitballin here. Oe possibly theres other issues with ar that only people behind the scenes know. Iono |

Not only were there 100 talking heads from ESPN and NFLN, but I'm tired and burned out of the "we're all in this together" bullshit from every single famous person. Just shut the hell up and get on with the draft. It's not an actual game and they sensationalize it like it was the Super Bowl. |

I think it was a bad choice. I would put bets on ARod being disgruntled before and even more now. That said, maybe they feel they have him as back up, and if a team needs a qb they trade Love, a la the Patriots. |
Re: NFL Draft Round 1 Thread
Green Bay knows A-Rod isn't playing forever. It's also a deep WR class, they will grab one. The value was too great to pass up. Jordan Love has huge upside and now he will sit and learn for a year. Maybe Rodgers has told GB behind closed doors that he's close to being done? We don't know that he has or hasn't. Good teams do this and there's a reason they always have great QB play.
Dallas Will score 28 ppg, you guys need to stop hating on them just because it's Dallas, I'm a realist. I hate them with a passion but on the field they are clearly the best team in the division now and they actually have a legit HC. Their D will fall back some after losing key guys but good luck stopping that Offense. Cooper Gallup Lamb (huge upgrade over cobb) Zeke Yikes Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

There is a vulnerable there unlike in the past. CY, Allen and Payne will give them problems. The TE position is lacking as well. |

Just spitballin here. Oe possibly theres other issues with ar that only people behind the scenes know. Iono
There are always exceptions though. I mean im sure there was a qb available for the pats who was bpa over the last 20 years but.... Always has to be a mix of bpa and need. Sometimes that line is easy to see like in this case. On a side-note I think Goodell should have cued up some boo’s when he came out to announce the picks. That would have been hysterical. |

Worth pointing out if (yeah possibly a big if right now) our new DL and system turn out to be game changing then it doesn't matter what weapons anyone has at RB or WR, if the QB doesn't have time to throw and the OL can't open holes...

I thought it was only "hating," if you were trashing someone who were successful or winning. How can it be hating when a team hasn't done anything to be "hate" worthy? Yes, I do hate the Cowboys by nature, of course. But I'm simply not impressed. By the way, I hate the term "hating," as it's trite and a way to try to mute opinions. |

The Cowboys getting CeeDee sucks. That offense is gonna be legit. We need to add a CB and S.
But we have Chase now, along with our other guys, we're gonna be hitting Dak in his fucking mouth all game twice a season. |

Sexy Rexy and Trent Dilfer went to superbowls based on their D! Not comparing our D to theirs and their offenses were probably better than ours. But yeah with this staff ( DEL RIO DEL RIO DEL RIO) and our front 7. Whew our D can be game changers! |

Hope you're right. Fact of the matter is Washington has drafted defensive line in the first round in 4 consecutive drafts now. And in that same span of time, the defense has ranked only once in the top ten in third down percentage (#7 in 2017). The remaining 3 years they ranked no higher than 29th in 3rd down percentage. 2 of those years, including 2019 they ranked last in the league. Hoping Ron Rivera is the difference for you guys. Really do |
