The evidence of paid grants from USAID can’t be dismissed and they have been the primary source of wasted foreign money abroad and here in the country as well.

It needs to be completely folded and rebuilt with accountability and transparency.

Hegseth Wants $50,000 for 'Emergency' Paint Job to Move into Military Family Housing, Lawmakers Say

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is looking to live in military family housing and requested to use $137,000 in taxpayer funding for repairs -- including nearly $50,000 for an "emergency" paint job -- a pair of top Democratic lawmakers said in a letter Friday demanding more details.

"We know that many service members and their families currently live in unacceptable housing conditions including houses with mold, lead paint, and other hazards," Democratic Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida and Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut said in their letter to Hegseth about his housing. "What commitment will you make to provide service members with a similarly high quality of housing for themselves and their families?"

Exclusive-Trump Air Force nominee arranged satellite contract in manner that favored Musk's SpaceX, sources say[/B]

By Joey Roulette, Marisa Taylor and Aram Roston

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's nominee as Air Force Secretary, currently a top official at the national spy satellite agency, arranged a multibillion-dollar contract solicitation in a way that favored Elon Musk's SpaceX, according to seven people familiar with the contract.

Changes to the requirements for the classified contract led the inspector general of the agency, the National Reconnaissance Office, to investigate whether the official, Troy Meink, had improperly directed the transaction toward SpaceX, two of the people told Reuters. Musk's space venture ultimately won the contract in 2021. It isn't clear whether the inspector general concluded a report or if any investigation remains underway.

Neither the allegations related to the contract, nor the inspector general's probe, have previously been reported.

I get what you are saying, but traditionally a big government will insulate a dictator. If Washington DC federal worker collective give 75% to democrats, it seems like that was occurring based on the reactions of attempts to shrink workforce, seek out and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in federal programs.

Let’s be honest, what seems more radical

making the government more efficient with cuts, rooting out waste/abuse/fraud and ending some federal foreign aid

Or

Packing the Supreme court, ending the filibuster, pardons of family members and allowing an open border policy

Maybe they can take some of those big savings Elmo is finding and have Congress invest in the technology needed to move everything digital, and also hire more employees to process the claims. But then again since when do we care about Federal workers, and whether they get their retirement benefits on time or not.

President Donald Trump said he would provide details Thursday of what he and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) claim are billions of dollars of wasteful and fraudulent government spending.

"I'm going to read to you some of the names that hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars have been given to," the president said in a news conference Wednesday.

But the president had not produced his list as of Thursday evening.

In the weeks since Trump's inauguration, he and Musk have made claims from the Oval Office and on social media about specific programs such as disaster relief for states, lodging for migrants in cities and that 150-year-olds are receiving Social Security payments. However, what few details were provided were vague, unsupported and sometimes false.
