Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Ryan Tannehill (6-2, 222), senior, QB, Texas A&M
Tannehill’s NFL potential finally took off after winning the starting job during the 2010 season. So far this year, he hasn't disappointed. Tannehill has displayed much better pocket sense. Combined with his foot quickness and athleticism, he moves efficiently to avoid pressure and can re-set, either in the pocket or outside, with accurate throws. He does an excellent job of reading defenses. When he finds open receivers, Tannehill gets rid of the ball quickly and is usually on target. He is more poised than before, and doesn't panic as plays breakdown. Also, he doesn't throw the ball up for grabs to avoid sacks. Tannehill has good arm strength and does a good job of throwing the ball where only the receiver can make a play. For a player who was viewed as a likely fourth-round pick entering the 2011 season, we have heard scouts talk about him being a high second-round pick now. PROJECTED: Second round. Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I don't agree with that line of thinking very much. Look what Denver did. They formatted their offense to Tebow's strengths and have won 6 straight. I think Shanny and Co. needs to pick the best athlete at QB with the most potential and work the offense to his skill set. I'm not saying dramatically change it, but do something to conform to more of their style.
I mean, what's the point of drafting a less talented athlete just to get someone that fits your scheme best? Get the most talented guy and make your scheme fit his style. You want the best players on the team. Not the best players to fit the scheme. You are boxing yourself in if you do that.
The difference is John Fox doesn't come across as an egomanic. |

A guy you could win with. But RG 3 could potentially be a great player. |
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
What denver is doing is nice and all and they will win the West but next year The Tebow project won't work, Just like the Wildcat after a year.. It's why they won't commit to him as their guy

I agree. Tebow also isn't the greatest athlete at QB as was my argument. I was just making the point that tailoring your scheme to the most athletic and all-around best player is better than choosing a player that is not the best but better fits your scheme. Tebow is obviously not the most gifted passer in the league. |
^ oh yeah no doubt, I want the skins to draft RG3 I think he's a player that can end up being a nightmare for other teams, great arm and faster than many linebackers in the league.

Try ALL linebackers. Don't know many linebackers running the 100m in 10 seconds. He's faster than most players. |
Good point lol

Mcshay top 5
Luck Barkley RGIII Jones Tannenhill |
If we draft 5 or 6 we should get RG3
|
Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I say if we draft Tannehill we A) better have traded down to get a lot of picks and B) better draft Kellen Moore, because I will not be amazed by Tannehill, he just looks like a College QB being forced to start for a prominent franchise.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
