He's on pace for over100 catches , that's a top 20 IMO
Pffft. Who judges a WR by how many catches they make? |

Everyone but Gtripp. |
I'm with Tripp on some issues but name me 30 WRs better than PG , besides the obvious top 7 or.so this season

Let's compare teams from a different era and staff and say which one is better and claim it truth. lol.. Basically what that post boils down to.
I get the douchebaggery, that comes across very clear, but I'm still not sure what -- if anything -- you are criticizing. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Pffft. Who judges a WR by how many catches they make?
Is there even one single front office that uses total catches as a measure of receiver quality?
I'm with Tripp on some issues but name me 30 WRs better than PG , besides the obvious top 7 or.so this season
Is Garcon better than Reggie Wayne? Is he better than Dez Bryant? Is he better than Jordy Nelson? How about Randall Cobb? Demaryius Thomas? Keenan Allen? Brandon Marshall? Antonio Brown? Michael Crabtree?
I kinda feel like anyone who honestly feels that Garcon is one of the best receivers in the NFL is going to dismiss the idea that someone who has been in the league three or fewer years can be better than him...but I think that's just flawed process. There's a lot of players that were drafted in the last three years at receiver who are more productive than Garcon. |
You named 9.. You got 21 more?
Of course there are 21 more. I wasn't going to bother with the pro bowlers, because this was a Pierre Garcon conversation.
If you want a list of receivers that have been more productive this season, you can start with these 44: FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | WIDE RECEIVERS 2013 I don't recommend making career evaluations off 9 games though. Garcon however, has been the same guy his whole career, regardless of whether his QB was Manning, Painter, or Griffin. 2012 was probably his best year, and he only played half a season. |

Some players regress and others improve. Garcon has improved and hes 100% a top 20 WR right now. |
No way crab or cobb are better than PG ,crab has had 1 good season 1. Cobb has had half a.season. I think Pierre is around 20

I'm no Bill Parcells but here's my top 20 as of right now this season.
No particular order Mega AJ Green D Thomas Dez Bryant Fitz Julio Jones Nelson Vincent Jackson Welker Marshall Steve Johnson Josh Gordon Desean Jackson Cruz T Smith Garcon Andre Johnson Justin Blackmon (not high) K.Allen Colston May switch Cobb and Allen if Cobb was healthy |
Because players cant improve right? Some players regress and others improve. Garcon has improved and hes 100% a top 20 WR right now.
He definitely showed signs of improvement last season, particularly fighting though the foot injury.
This year? He's who he's always been. If you feel he's improved and he's playing like this, I don't know what you attribute that to. When you rattle off seven wins in a row, you need some guys to play a bit over their true talent level. That's what Garcon did for us last year. It's not that he's not trying as hard this year or that he doesn't care, it's just that every issue he's put on tape this year (rounding off routes, dropping passes, failing to create space consistently) are issues he's shown quite often in the past. If you really want to quibble that he's actually the 28th best receiver in football because he's a great blocker too and so I'm wrong to say he's not top 30...go ahead, I'm not going to argue if he's top 25 or top 30 or top 40. That doesn't matter. He wouldn't be in my top 30. |

I think the whole industry would take Cobb over him. Most people are incredibly bullish on Cobb. I think they are more split on Crabtree, but I'd still take Crabtree over Garcon. I just think he's a more refined player. But if you want to take Garcon because he's available (healthy) more often, that's fine too. |
