Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
They don't technically play the same position, but does anyone here think Garcon is a better offensive player than Jordan Reed? Because I think Reed is so, so much better that I would assume all Redskins fans would vouch for me on that one, getting to watch the both of them on the same field.

I don't recommend making career evaluations over 9 games though -Gtripp. ...... GG! Lol Keep your head up Gtripp and keep feeding us our comical relief. What would the Warpath be without it.? |

Just a current one. I find you adorable. You try so very, very hard...I almost wanted to just concede that one to you. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Over the last 16 games Peter Boy had been a borderline top 20 WR. Though inconsistent he also was an impact player in some games. But his career overall is top 30 at best, I mean being very kind.
That said I think he could be a solid guy for a long time, part of a nice WR group. So....get another guy like him and there you go. I wish Hank was that player. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Of course there are 21 more. I wasn't going to bother with the pro bowlers, because this was a Pierre Garcon conversation.
If you want a list of receivers that have been more productive this season, you can start with these 44: FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | WIDE RECEIVERS 2013 I don't recommend making career evaluations off 9 games though. Garcon however, has been the same guy his whole career, regardless of whether his QB was Manning, Painter, or Griffin. 2012 was probably his best year, and he only played half a season.
Jericho Cotchery is the 4th best WR in the league according to you? Jordy Nelson is the number 1 WR overall in the entire NFL this year? Larry Fitzgerald is the 58th best WR? That is what that stat is telling me. That is just all kinds of useless to judge a WR on. I really doubt there are many calling Cotchery a top 5 WR and Nelson the best this year. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Guys who are clearly better than Garcon: D Thomas, Dez Bryant, Megatron, AJ Green, B Marshall, Vincent Jax, Josh Gordon, Julio Jones, Victor Cruz. These teams, he is clear number 2.
Guys who are on their way out, who you wont build around on this team, who wont be better within a year: Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Reggie Wayne Guys who are not better than Garcon: Torry Smith, Jordy Nelson, Antonio Brown, Macklin, Jennings, Decker, Hakeem Nicks, James Jones, Crabtree Anybody from NE, Anybody from Miami, Anybody on Minny, Anybody on Seattle, etc. etc. Guys who seem system, slot guys you could argue are better than Garcon: Welker, D Jax, Hilton, Cobb Not mention any rookies, resume too small and not comparable |

GTripp doing what GTripp does best, leading a thread to its inevitable end

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
How do PG's WR skills have any bearing on how awesome he will be as our next HC or OC?
|
At this point I will take anybody as a new HC. Anybody.

I'll get my coaching hat, guys. I'll get this team rolling again. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Never, ever hire a father and son coaching combo again.

This. I felt at the time it probably wasn't a good idea, it's official now. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Well...this thread should be heating up so I hope our mods don't shut it down. Or at least let somebody start a new one about coaching and the teams future.

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
In reality Shanny has to go, as most if not all of the assistants, but the thing is what happens if Dan finds himself in a position like he was in after Gibbs left and was stuck with the Zorn hire? People throw college names out, especially the HC from Baylor. But why would he walk away from a cushy job where he is almost a deity to a crap organization? Seriously now, if we do fire Shanny, the entire staff is probably canned. Would any decent college coach want to be put an a situation where he most likely would be a loser? I know Chip Kelly and Harbaugh made good transitions thus far and Dick Vermeil did a great job wherever he went, but other than that I can't think of anybody else that jumped from DivI to the NFL and did a great job. John Robinson did OK, but not great. McKay got stuck with coaching TB, so he sucked. I think Snyder shot himself in the foot with firing Marty in 2000. Marty was the one who could have really gotten the thing going and then handed off the job to a competent successor.
