Howell needs a defense. And a coach that knows how to disguise plays.
Also an Oline…Howell was running for his life most the day. The guy is tough. Chris Paul on roller skates all day. Cosmi not picking up stunts. |

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Keep Howell with EB. Both are good together. They are the only two reasons this team is even remotely enjoyable to watch.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I really would like to see EB as interim HC tomorrow, then let the ownership determine the next step over the last games. I know a lot of criticism goes to EB, but he came into an offense with a shit OLine, a 5th rounder as a starting QB, and no defense to support the offense. I am okay if he is gone after the end of the season, but I think Rivera just needs to go, and EB would be the right guy to lead the last part of the season. |

Make EB the HC and just see how the team responds. Ron is certainly gone, and so is JDR. Maybe EB isn’t the guy but if the new ownership is wondering than why not let him have a chance? It certainly can’t hurt. |

How has he proven that? Is he calling the plays? Dude is gonna be a stud but he isn’t Peyton Manning yet. |

Agree. Bieneimy hasn't proven squat. I'd remove him as well if I was changing staffs. EDIT: I read the initial post incorrectly. |

Last year with Turner (one game) college and HS. Kid has it, he can work with any OC. EB needs to learn about the running game, till then I can't take him serious as an OC. |

Any quarterback who ever played one snap in the NFL proved it in highschool and college. You can’t compare that to the pros. Last year was one game like you said so… EB and Howell are a good team. He is a pass first guy. Our offense has shown up most of the year. What he needs desperately is an oline that can give the passing game time to develop. We are not able to throw deep most of the time. I have absolutely no problems with the direction of the offense- they just need to upgrade the line. It is an easy fix. The defense however is an absolute dumpster fire from the coordinator down to almost every player minus roughly 4 of them. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Sam is 217 yards away from 3K yards passing, he could get close to 4500-5000 yards with 7 games remaining. 17 TD's 9 int's.

Glass Half full or empty ??
At least we have a New Owner .. highly probable Franchise QB , at least one Good Reciever.. a couple Nice RB’s .. a pro bowl punter . Maybe 4 guys on D we possibly build around .. We need complete coaching change .. for sure !! |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Seattle doubled Jon Allen in pass pro and it took away our entire pass rush. Huge difference in our new DE starters who are easily blocked one-on-one. If we had a DC we could have game planned a variety of blitzes to compensate. Oh, well...

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Howell is The Guy.
We're lucky because Howell as a young guy (only 23, younger than Michael Penix Jr) on a cost-controlled contract combined with stable ownership, plenty of cap space, several day 2 draft picks, a weaker NFC, and a big media market in DC will make this job highly-coveted for all the hotshot GM and HC candidates this year. We could set ourselves up for 10+ years of a great staff on the football ops side because Howell (and other factors) draw in top talent. Let's build around this kid and go make some noise in the postseason next year. Oh, and for the love of god, give him an extension after the 2024 season and don't make the same mistake we did with Cousins. |
