me too...got one this morning. I get internet only from Comcast...Somehow that's now a license to call me once every 2 weeks to ask about cable. And their rotating local numbers between Richmond and Virginia Beach to try to throw my game off. My game is tight though.

2014 Challenger. 40k Miles on it, just moved to nY from OK, drove just fine, got the car inspected last week and today the damn battery light comes on and shortly after the car overheats... WTF is that??

The local number thing is what pisses me off the most. I do a lot of outside consulting in my town and the fake cell phones are tough because sometimes clients don't leave a message.

That happened to me when I moved from SC to RI. Apparently they sell a different type a battery in those regions due to their extreme heat/ cold.

But I mean you did it in the summer, odd.

OK, today has been the last straw for me on one things that is grinding the fuck out of my gears...

...people walking into my office when my door is mostly closed without knocking. They come right around my desk too, plop their computer down and say, "Can you fix this?" Or just open the door right up, and start asking away. I just feel like common fucking decency is to ask, "Hey, is now a good time?" I've been interrupted on some stuff I need to concentrate on 20+ times today since I've been counting. I eventually CLOSED my door and put a note on it saying, "If my door is closed, please knock." 5 more came in, didn't knock.

I'm about to lay into someone. For the most part my "angry" is "civil", but someone is about to get lashed out at if they invade my shit again. Making me so fucking mad today.

Fart more. Seriously. Not to sound like some gross slob at work (Im not) but my office manager came into my office the other day and I had just ripped one, she then came to the side of my desk looking for a file.

I panicked a bit. Tried talking fast "no, that file is not in here" .. but she barged right in.

She left quickly.

If you've already tried being firm about office etiquette, and it ain't working, time to step it up TMC. They are just gonna keep doing it until one day you lash out and you end up in HR, like you're the one that needs fixing.

lol yesterday after having Chipotle for lunch I let a smelly burp slip and immediately a co-worker appeared at my desk and was in my face with a question. She backed right away.

I know where I work I can't just ask IT for help. I need to fill out a ticket then there is all this protocol until they come fix it. If you just try to ask them they refer you to the ticket system.

Basically it is a glorified deli counter ticket system.

This is what I've determined I'm going to do... Lock my office door when I need to concentrate so that prevents anyone from just busting in. If they knock, I come to the door and ask why was it locked? I'll just be real in saying that I'm concentrating so I needed to lock the door. Just so hard because I always feel like the asshole if I say to someone, "Hey! Don't have time right now. Come back later."

This has grinded my gears for years. I can be in the car, sitting in traffic and this thing pops in my head. Just popped in my head now at work.

Why the hell does Marty McFly rip the page out of the phone book when he is in the coffee shop. I remember phone books, and I hated when people ripped the taxi or pizza pages out. Lazy bastards, write that shit on your hand or jeans or a dollar bill if you have to.

Not cool.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

This usually happens 2-4 times every year, the county shop I work at is the largest in the county and has a lot of vendors. All invoices must be ran with our shop specific credit card and we need the cc slip with all invoices so they can be processed and verified. So today one of our vendors had our card decline for whatever reason, so she ran it 4 times total before she gave up and called us. After the 2nd attempt the card gets frozen to prevent fraud, so all she did was freeze the card so now no vendor can use it. At 4 pm on a Friday afternoon it won't be fixed until the accounting dept gets it resolved with the bank on Tuesday at the earliest which means all of our vendors are going to be calling us to let us know they can't charge parts to the card. Most if not all of our vendors are cool with sending us parts because they know we pay our bills on time but it creates a massive hassle with a backlog of un-charged invoices all because one vendor will repeatedly try to charge the card when it gets declined.

That's how it works, these megas that have assloads of our information don't put nearly as much money into security. I'm pretty resigned to the fact that if my info is somewhere like Equifax, etc. at some point it's going to be stolen. Get a security freeze is all I can tell you, I did it after OPM got hacked a few years ago and my info was snatched up.

Ever try carving a pumpkin with a know-it-all 5 year old?

Yup, theyre idiots. Her pumpkin came out looking like a potato head picasso with one eye on its forehead and the other down near its cheek. There might be 3 eyes actually, I have no idea what this hole on the side is supposed to be.

Its a family embarrassment. Im going to put it outside and hope the squirrels eat it.

Your boss sticking around the office at 2:06 pm the day before Thanksgiving .. when all the employees are waiting to run out the door once his car leaves the parking lot.

Sitting through a 15 second ad to watch a 5 second sports clip ... only to have the clip freeze 2 seconds into the 5 second clip and then you refresh only to have to sit through the same damn fucking 15 second ad.

I took the day after Christmas off. I havent taken consecutive days off or a vacation since last December.

I have a co-worker that takes a ton of days/weeks off and made it a point to keep saying how she will be coming in the day after Christmas because December 26th isnt a holiday.

No shit sherlock. Guess what, the entire first week of December WHEN YOU TOOK OFF FOR HOLIDAY VACATION WASNT A FUCKING HOLIDAY EITHER.

I agree with this, seems like it's becoming completely more common everywhere you go. People are oblivious to the fact you only need to use them on roads with poor no lighting and no cars on them.

I can't drink sweet tea from any restaurants. Way too much sugar. I can mix 2/3 unsweetened tea and 1/3 sweetened tea from Panera and its still too sweet.
