Same here. I think our starters did very well against the Ravens starters. HTTR!!! |
Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread
Alls I'm going to say is ... it's the preseason. That being said, this had the feel of a real game. WTF is up with the QBs making it so difficult to make a call. Both were pretty good tonight, Hightower was a beast as per usual. Hopefully Jenkins isn't banged up too bad.

Scheme, he's only been with the team...what ...2 weeks? |

I'm probably wrong because admittedly I dunno a thing about playbooks, but I would think blocking schemes aren't as hard to learn as it is QB reads and hot routes and WR routes and what not. I would think blocking stays pretty consistent from playbook to playbook. Outside of shifts, audibles and what not. |

Well, it took our OL a full year to really come together. The zone blocking scheme takes a lot of continuity and timing. |
Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread
Congrats Balt...bunch of idiots dancing like they won the eff'n SB. Memo: our ones beat your ones.
On a more pragmatic note: Decent game for us. Certainly again we had some issues but we definitely compete and don't get out classed. Gotta fix the penalties. They killed us more than a few times. But against a serious D we looked better than average and our D looked damn good. The points they gave up came on drives where a 3rd down penalty prolonged the drive. I was encouraged overall. To me at least our imminent 2-14 season looks less and less likely. |
Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread
Where are all the Gano haters? The guy has been as solid as a rock and it would have been stupid to cut him. Austin is solid, got keep him, Paul, Hankerson, Banks and go with 2 QB's to keep the extra WR. I would say thank you and goodbye to Stalworth, Sellers and Kelly.

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread
Comcast is saying a sprain for Jenkins, but the rumors on Twitter are that he's out for the year. I would hate for that to happen and I hope those are just rumors.

The zone scheme isn't hard to "learn" it is hard to perfect as a unit because it is a moving machine with multiple moving parts that have to synchronize their efforts. You have to have players with the proper skill set and some time together to develop the ubiquitous "chemistry". |

He's definitely made a strength and accuracy improvement since last season. Knowing I probably capped on him last season, I'll eat some crow. |

So basically you're a centipede. If you have a bum "leg" then the entire bug just kinda falls over. |
