Yes, we’re expecting the Redskins to select a defensive back with one of their first two picks later this month. Maybe even both of their first two. Considering the depth at corner and safety, and considering the desire for more depth at both spots, it’s a strong possibility. We’ve told you whom they should look at in previous reports. This time we’ll tell you what they should look for in a player, through the eyes of former Redskins safety Matt Bowen as well as a longtime NFL defensive coach. No mention of dreamy eyes? Mods, please move it to news if it's deemed worthy. |

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Now that we're not getting Winfield, I can say this; he doesn't stay healthy. He did last year but previously he's been often injured.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Am I crazy for thinking we should take a look at bringing C Woodson in (I realize we would have to restructure someone to do so) to raise the level of competition at nearly every position in the secondary? At the very least he would provide quality veteran depth at multiple positions.
I recently heard an interview with him and he seems to have a something to prove because no team has contacted him. He said he wanted to play another 2 years. I know he was hurt last year but he has pretty much proven to be sturdy in the past. I think we could get him pretty cheap with maybe an incentive laden contract. And he is only 8 months older than Winfield. I know signing aging vets has not exactly worked out for us in the past but I feel this could something different. |

I'm not sure how he & Hall would mesh either. |

He got hot last year but he's not the passer Griffin or Wilson is IMO. He used his legs much more than the other 2. We'll see next year I guess |

Don't forget your allegiance to the Kaep Krusaders Bandwagon we were both on skinsfaninok. Although I would rather have RG3, I believe Kaep is a better thrower than people give him credit for and I think he will be an elite level player with Griff, Wilson and Luck in the young studs QB club. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Seattle won the offseason so far, they made smart moves and taken appropriate risks to take that next step.

O no doubt, I always said he's better than Smith but I don't think either of them are great QBs |
