Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
i think Buges will still be here as offensive line coach. Don Breaux, i dunno, he might move to management or pick another position that isn't already taken.

Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
id guess breaux would be less involved. bugel would still hold a lot of weight id guess, atleast managing the o line still

Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
According to John Clayton from the previously posted ESPN link:
Saunders was a natural fit because he learned the system of Gibbs and Don Coryell in San Diego as an assistant coach from 1983 through 1985. Saunders became the Chargers head coach from 1986 through 1988. I am so psyched for next year!! When is the opening Kickoff? |
Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
where was the WP on this one??
|
Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
I really think this is a sign that Gibbs is going back to his wayyyyy back roots of Air Coryell. Remember, when Gibbs first came here in '81 he was a passing game disciple but dropped his pass heavy attack to become run oriented.
While I am sure Gibbs has no intention of changing from a run first, smash em down philosophy, I am equally sure he is looking for ways to incorporate an innovative passing game into that philosophy. |

Looks like it could be a done deal.[/QUOTE] Notice how that paper does not say "Redskins" in the article? This coming from a paper that covers the CHIEFS! |
Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
I just hope this doesn't stunt Coy's progress to the top. :biggthump

Re: It's official - Al Saunders is our new offensive coordinator!
So now we have a Hall of Fame coach, one of the best if not the best D cord. and O cord. Maybe Danny boy is learning a little about football and the best ways to spend his money. Talk about Snyder he has been very quite and invisible latley. Last time I can remember seeing him is the first Dallas game when they showed him jumping up and down like a little kid who got a new bike.
