Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
only the packers, raiders, and jets have talked to the saints about trading to #2 right now... i don't think anyone's given them a good enough offer though.

49ers | Saints asking price high for No. 2

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
I think the Jets would have to give me picks #4 and #29, as well as Vilma, in order to get high enough to get Reggie Bush. He's worth it. In light of this recent post by that guy, the saints are asking wayyy too much for Bush. That's not worth it. There's no way i believe Reggie Bush is worth three first rounders.

No he is not. Have you not read all that I have posted young grasshopper? |
Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
The best thing about this entire debate is that nobody really knows for sure what Bush is going to do in the NFL. Will he be the next Barry Sanders or Ladanian? Who knows, but personally, I doubt it. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen so much hype for a part-time college role-playing back. I certainly don't see him being an every-down back in the NFL.......so just how valuable is he really? The hype surrounding him and his success in college actually kind of reminds me of Peter Warrick.
And what about Mario Williams? Is he going to be the next Dwight Freeney/Julius Peppers, or the next Courtney Brown (God it hurts me to say that)? Nobody really knows. Personally, the limited action I've seen him in he's looked outstanding. Either way, I'd be willing to bet Mario Williams will play a higher percentage of snaps for the Texans than Reggie Bush would have. Questioning the Texans on this move, however, I don't understand. As I see it, the Texans already have a very good, possibly great, starting running back. What they don't have is a pass-rush or a rock-solid LT.......and because of that, I've thought all along the Texans would be better served taking Williams or Ferguson (of course, it seems like they probably should have been able to trade down and still get their guy......not sure why that didn't happen). Likewise, I think the Saints would be foolish taking Bush with Ferguson still there. If Duece is healthy, what do you need Bush for? The Saints have more pressing needs. If I were them, I'd trade down to 3 or 4 and take Brick and let the Jets or Titans have Bush (two teams that could actually use him....on a part-time basis of course). |
Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
well, i don't agree with you that reggie bush isn't gonna be a full time starter, that's for sure lol. I think Reggie Bush is worth it, he is a gamebreaker, if he goes to a team that has someone else to take part of the load off his back, i say watch out. He could do the same thing Portis did in 2002 as a rookie.

They might be willing to take the farm if some team is willing to sell it, but unless they lower that asking price, they don't really think anyone will trade them for it. |

Really? When has Bush ever been a full-time back? If he couldn't do it in college, how in the world is he going to hold up in the NFL? |

lol i wasn't talking to you, i was talking to angryssg. And besides, you never know. I don't think Cadillac is going to have a long career in the nfl mainly because of how often he ran in college. Time will only tell how good Bush is. At this point, nobody knows. |
Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
Bush is way over hyped and he is certainly not worth 3 first round picks. I'm not really a big fan of Williams either (weak competition) but if he can get pressure on a QB on a consistent basis he is worth picking over Bush. Running backs are a dime a dozen after all and they do tend to get hurt quite a bit.
Oh and he rejected 26 million guaranteed money before stepping on the field? What a stupid move. Call me crazy but I _THINK_ Williams and Bush will turnout to be busts. |

The Texans are a trainwreck of an organization, not a team poised to make a SB run, playoff run, or even a run for a .500 season. The entire organization has a losing mentality from top to bottom. Look how many top, first-round draft picks this team has had and done jacksquat with. It's just polishing a big ol' turd at this point to add someone like Reggie Bush. The best DE in college in the past 10, 20 or 30 years isn't going to turn that craphole of a team around, unless he can singlehandedly stop the opposition and score a good 21-28 points a game. Himself of course, since no one else there can score. |

Re: Texans Reach Contract Agreement with Williams, will pick him No. 1
