Sam Adams can also teach players like Montgomery and Golston. If you look at one of the biggest problems we had on D last year it was run defense. Clogging up the middle is what we need so line-backers can fill the holes and make plays. He eats up blockers on the line. Even if it is for only one year...so what!

He eats up more than blockers! I don't know how it could hurt anything. Our line could use depth, experience and a big fat-ass to keep guys off our linebackers. |

The only thing Sam teaches anyone is a) Eat as many burgers as you can; and b) Where's the next big contract. This is a guy who has always had motivational problems. Even in Baltimore where he won a SB, he always was looking out for Sam. Not that he was disruptive, he just wasn't one of those guys who was gonna sacrifice for the team. He got by on talent and was never a particularly hard worker. Not the kind of influence I want around guys like Golston and Montgomery. The only thing he is gonna eat up now is salary cap room. |
