Re: Remembering Our Local Fallen Heros Thread

I support the troops, those who are present and those who have past. I love them with all my heart and it pains me to see so many of them die at such a young age.

I want to bring to your attention to Joseph Briseno Jr, a true hero whose pain I can not begin to imagine. His family is in need of financial support as they have exsusted all their savings to care for Jay. If anyone in here is interested in donating to the family please let me know. I am willing to match all donation up to $500.

Getting back to the purpose of the thread...

One of the best charities out there now is called the Freedom Alliance. 100% of their money goes to help send kids of our lost heroes to college on scholarships. It's the least we can do. Often the kids are forgotten after memorial services. They're missing a parent and perhaps the opportunity to afford college to make a future for themselves.

I've donated and would hope everyone else considers it, irregardless of political preferences and views on the war.

***Thanks for serving for us, angryssg. I sincerely mean thank you. My great grandfather, grandfather and father all served in WWI, WWII and Vietnam. I have the heart to serve but due to physical issues, I can't. I feel guilty about it sometimes and wish I could fulfill my duties, but since I can't I just do as much as possible to support those who are serving in my place and I want to make sure you guys know you are appreciated. I guess this willingness but not ability to be in the military is why I so passionately support and even defend you guys when you're not here to speak for yourselves.

I've tried to get into the DoD or a civilian service position so I can feel like I'm really doing more to contribute, but that job search is still ongoing. :)

By the way, I have to say one more thing about the previous bru-ha-ha. BSB just said I made a political statement...if you had read my previous posts BSB, I was saying to put politics aside. If you're incapable of that, I feel sorry for you. I've said all I'll say in this stupid argument. We need to honor and support our troops. If you can't, leave the thread and find one that you won't derail.

Couldn't leave well enough alone could you?

BSB, no need to respond to these comments. We all know, as you've stated, of your honor and support of the troops

Yawn, again they try to start something. Like I said if you want to talk about it, please stop putting this thread off on tangents and open a new thread. Post #17 by buster clearly instigated a response and if those statements are allowed to be said statements that disagree are also allowed to be said. Also buster, you spoke of congress in your second post. I don't care what your first post was but your subsequent posts made me respond. Matty may have put the thread on a tangent but appologized (#16) and Buster continued to do so.

Now i ask if you want to say anymore, make another thread.

bsb, why are you getting all the personal attacks? you have been around here for quite some time, and maybe have earned alittle more respect then you are being given. i think your recent posts have been well thought out, and just because you are disagreeing with someone, doesn't make you the bad guy. i don't get all the hostility over a disagreement in thinking

See SS, its another instant where you should have probably locked the thread right after I posted.

Just a joke guys, do not get your panties in a ruffle.

Simply responding to an incorrect statement made about me by BSB while I was offline.

So one person can do that but not another?

I guess only if I'm following the "popular" train of thought...

It's still a shame people can't just post supportive statements or leave this thread alone if they don't agree with it's premise. Some things should be above politics and popularity polls taken by people we can't trust anyways. It really is a great thread started with the best intentions.

I really don't feel like going over this here but what incorrect statement was that?

My only point was that both sides of the arguement were posting political posts yet SBF only yelled at one side of the arguement for putting it onto something else. You posted a political post. It doesn't matter if it was your first or second or third post.

But you say it implying that i should have seen that and decided because of that your next post didn't matter. That doesn't make any sense at all like i said. Doesn't matter if it was your first post or 5th. Then you take that as you being able to keep politics aside and turn the arguement to me and therefore distancing yourself from blame. That is a great debate tactic by the way but it is illogical because i responded to a political post by you. The post itself is completely illogical.

Again, i am just defending myself. You said i made an incorrect statement about you. That isn't true.

Let me remind you: http://www.redskinswarpath.com/326373-post47.html

So don't think we're taking one-side on the issue. There is no "popular" train of thought.

BSB and Buster, take your issues off this thread. Start your own thread if you must. Let's keep the original purpose of this thread intact. This the last warning.
