Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
Andre Davis, Bryant Johnson, Patrick Crayton, Jerry Porter, Bernard Berrian are among the top ones
Thanks SmootSmack. Bernard Berrian definitely had the best season of these guys with 951 yards 5 TDs recieving, the year before he had 775 yards 6TDs, and he is 27. He doesn't seem like a bad option - the only downside really is that he isn't very tall at 6'1, but the need for a tall receiver is questionable, especially considering he had 47 first downs. Not too Shabby Bryant Johnson seems like he also might be worth giving a shot. He hasn't broken 600 yards receiving yet in his career, and he hasn't scored many points, but look who he is playing behind. At 26 years old this 6'3 216 lb WR might be a good option as our #2 or #3 WR. One thing is for certain, we need to replace Brandon Lloyd. I like Caldwell and McCardell, but how much longer will they be with us? We need a young prospect at WR that could eventually become an impact player for us. We may be able to put this off for another year, but I think that we would be testing fate to go into the season without another talented young WR waiting in the wings just in case (God forbid) Moss or Randel El get injured. Do you think we can afford any of these guys? Are any of them worth investing in? Are we better off trying to develop Mix or a someone on the practice squad? Should we consider looking in the draft? |
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
Since CJ is "A problem child" in some opinions how about Roy Williams in Detroit he wants to get out to make space for Calvin Johnson. You know the Lions F.O is always friendly to Mr. Snyder.....RW reminds me of a CYBORG on the field

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
As of right now, the Lions are asking for at least a #2 pick for RW, allegedly. Pats got Moss for a 4th
|
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
SS, do you think he's worth a 2nd (more specifically, OUR 2nd) ?
|
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
Well if Moss is the precedent, then no.
If not, then yes I would seriously consider it. I saw a lot of Lions games this year and, while he has his faults, he's still IMO an elite WR. Of course, this would cause serious backlash among the fan base for trading a draft pick. But I think we can still fill many of our needs even if we trade for him. |
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
From NFL.com, it looks like he's been pretty productive (when not injured) I'm surprised they're giving up on him so quickly. That would be 3 1st round picks on wr's and 2 of them not even on the team a couple of yrs later. How is Millen still employed again?

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
I think he's trying to force a trade, more so than they would like to get rid of him

A better precedent might be Wes Welker (2nd and 7th) or Javon Walker (2nd). I'd be pretty happy to see Roy Williams in Washington. I've not been a fan of trading draft picks, but I guarantee there won't be any 6-3 WRs with Williams' speed in the 2nd round . . . He's not Brandon Lloyd and he's 26 years old. |
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
I want a million dollars. I really don't care what he wants. He is a good receiver. He is not the best receiver on his team. He is just the most outspoken. He is a good player, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't take him over Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison, or any other receiver that is in the upper echelon of receivers. He is good, but he is not worth spending draft picks on. Especially, first day draft picks.

Good point about Javon Walker & Wes Welker. The Pats straight up stole Randy Moss. They also traded Deion Branch to the Seahawks a couple of seasons ago for a first rounder. So I think that Randy Moss deal was more of an anomaly than a precedent. All that being said and a weak WR draft class, I think Roy Williams for a #2 would be a decent deal. Maybe, Chad Johnson on the trading block as well will lessen their values in a trade. Amazing that two elite receivers are on the trade market. How can the Danny resist? Also, would a Limas Sweed, Adarius Bowman or a Mario Manningham be a better acquisition than Roy Williams? We'd be lucky if one of those guys is still around when our #2 selection comes up. If upgrading the WR position is a priority, I'd rather do it with this trade. |
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
i say get him. ^ and randy moss was the biggest steal of the decade... even based on a single season.

Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
If Jackson comes to Washington so will Johnson as he really missed him in Cincy this year
What a nightmare to have to cover T.O. and Johnson at the same time...
What a nightmare to have to share a locker room with those two together. Neither one would want to take a backseat or share the spotlight. |
Re: Chad Johnson Wants Out of Cincy
I would take Ocho-Cinco in a heartbeat, he could change...we've seen T.O. morph, kinda, could you imagine him, Moss, Randle El, and Cooley on the field at the sametime.....a secondarys worst nightmare.
I doubt the Redskins will pick him up. Dan Snyder doesn't pick up idiots like Chad Johnson that brings drama to the locker room and acts like a moron on the field. No thanks.
explain how chad is an idiot and brings drama. |
