Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
I dont acutally think we are like the Lions, I was just calling you out for saying there is no comparisson because Im tired of everyone else whinning and writing comments that just bash other peoples opinion and give no reason. So if you just wrote that because youre tired of people whinning too then tooche.
If you don't actually agree with the OP's opinion and agree with mine, then stop calling me out. That in itself is ridiculous. |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
No as a Skins fan stuck in Detroit, we are not the Lions yet, but the events that have transpired in the last several weeks have me worried that we may be heading in that direction. We played inspired ball for 4 weeks this season, but came up short against a better team in Seattle. The emotion of losing ST let the guys play above themselves til the big dance started, where real good teams shine. If the state of the NFC wasn't so bad, we would have stayed home this season. Hiring assistants before hiring the HC will only make sense if Snyder and the FO already have their man. If not, you are putting the new HC in a box by not letting him pick his own crew and letting open the distinct possiblity that he doesn't gel with his staff. I hope that Snyder already having his man is the case, or this might be another messed up post Gibbs era. Should have kept Marty maybe.
Why lump the Cowboys in with the Pats?
What does Jerry Jones do that Dan Snyder doesn't? More importantly, what does Jones do that Belichick/Pioli also do?
He drafts well |

I dont agree with your original post, thats my point, it was a waste of everyones time to read that you think people need medication. But atleast you are consistent and use the word ridiculous in each post. I just agree that I dont like people whinning, which you were (you were just whinning about posters not the redskins) I was trying to make amends with you, but I guess that was ridiculous |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
This thread would have made more sense before Joe's return. Between 1992-2004 we were in the bottom five of the league in terms of losing, right there with Arizona, Detroit, and Cincinatti. Since Gibbs' return however the ship appears to have been righted to an extent. While we are not up there with NE and Indy we are solidly in the middle of the league and have two playoff appearances over the last three years, which is certainly respectable.
As for people laughing at us, if they aren't fans of one of the 8 teams who made it further than us this year I hope they aren't laughing too loudly. |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
We are def on the way to laughing stock of the league. Why blow something up when everybody and their mother wanted it to stay the same and hire Williams. Snyder and Cerrato are making one mistake after another. I think Snyder will use Cerrato as a scapegoat if things do not work out.

But the thing is, while I did like the idea of continuity at first, I have sorta switched over to straddling the middle road in the sense that, maybe it could work. We haven't had any proof that it absolutely won't work. Saying we are the laughing stock of the league, I believe is a bit of a stretch. But if we are, it's like the old saying goes, "Laugh now. Cry later." |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
At the risk of sounding defensive, let me try to clarify what I was trying to say. I didn't intend for this to be a doom and gloom thread. Rather, I think the Skins have a great, rabid fan base (much like Cleveland, KC and yes, Detroit).
The Ford family spends money on players, coaches, FO, stadium amenities, training areas, practice fields and equipment. This completely differentiates them from the Cards. Unfortunately their spendetures and efforts have not translated into a whole lot of victories. |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
Did the original post that got all of this started actually use the phrase "beautiful FedEx"? When did that happen?

Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
This thread looks its heading into the direction of being banished to thread hell.
At least it'll give the Vince Young thread some company if it does. :D |

Honestly I didn't read your first post. But let's just move on |
Re: Are we the Detroit Lions?
No, we're the Washington Redskins. Say what you will about Snyder and Cerrato. I'll take them 8 days a week over Ford/Millen. I still can't believe they started 6-2 and wet the bed to a 7-9 record. Someone here said it, and if I remembered who I'd give them credit, but the Detroit Lions are built to lose. Perennially.
