I really don't care who the message comes from to be honest. I only wish that Bush would step up and say these sort of things.
So if Bush was saying these things and doing the opposite you would be praising him for doing so? |
Re: Al Gore lays down green challenge to America
For all of you that say listen to the message and do not focus on the messenger are probably people that voted for Gore. If Bush was doing the same thing you guy's would be bashing hime all over the place.
BS. I think Gore is a crackpot. But on this he is right. Whether or not he follows his own advice is comeltely irrelevant to the message. I'm confounded by those who don't see that. |

Again, I'm concerned about the message. I could care less who is saying it. |
Re: Al Gore lays down green challenge to America
"Gore insists the only real obstacle is the reluctance of America's leaders to seek bold solutions to high energy prices and global warming."
What about his reluctance? "It represents a challenge to all Americans in every walk of life: to our political leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, engineers and to every citizen." All but him I guess? "But he said Thursday he also likes the idea of cutting the payroll tax and creating a new tax on carbon emissions, which would give a leg up to low-carbon sources." Maybe he just wants to help fund the program with his own high carbon emissions? It is only a truly dysfunctional system that would buy into the perverse logic that the short-term answer to high gasoline prices is drilling for more oil 10 years from now." He thinks with all the bright minds we can do his plain in 10 years but it will take us 10 years to get oil and we allready have the technology? HMMM I guess if he does not feel he needs to make the change maybe next time he should have the press conference in front of his hugh mansion. |
Re: Al Gore lays down green challenge to America
Ugh just forget about who is saying it, that's not what's important.
But isn't following your own advise showing that you really believe in what your saying and/or doing?
Yes . Al just wants to take credit for the changes taking place now , as spending on alternative energy has gone from 20 billion a year when he left office to 130 billion now . 20 years from now he will claim to have discovered Natural gas and invented solar energy :) . I honestly hope we just do what is going to get us off of importing oil from the middle east . If I ever win the lottery , I will buy the Warpath a Natural Gas powered bus and drive us to all the home games ,,,, as long as I can have a few cold beers

It would be wise to follow your own edict... then again i doubt you see the irony of your own proclamation. Sad really. |
snopes.com: A Tale of Two Houses
FYI
Excellent link, thanks. I had no idea! (about Bush's house that is) I do find it odd that some people don't think we should question Gore. To me, he's the kind of person that is the problem. We as "the little people" are making strides to go more green (with or without his message) and he is not making an effort at all. If we can't put him into question, who can we??? I don't know about where you guys live, but I am seeing more and more motorcycles, and scooters around here as well as a TON of hybrids. The message is being heard loud and clear by millions upon millions of americans. SO maybe it's time to question the so called leaders of "green". Maybe then we'll actually have a greener america. I do find it even more upsetting that Gore actually seemed to rip off the idea. Is that all this guy does is try to take credit for others ideas??? On a side note, my wife and I are looking at building a house, so any "green" suggestions (minus geo thermal heating / cooling, and solar panels) would be appreciated. I'd like to go as green as possible, but due to the fact that I have an older house, I really don't know everything that could be done. (within reason). |

Gore should follow his own advise and go more green. He has done his part by asking the goverment to do its part and for all Americans to do their part so why should he have to lead by example? Him just saying what we should do is good enough. Forget that he is flying around in his gas sucking private jet from one place to the next spreeding the word to go green or sitting around in his home which burns all that energy. |

Oh well that clears up everything. One question. If he is looking for a solar conversion kit for one of his jets what happens if it gets cloudy when they are up in the air? |
Re: Al Gore lays down green challenge to America
i cant take it anymore. you guys that will make excuses for anything that our president does, make me chuckle. this venom and hatred of Bush started back in 1992, when the republican party declared war on then president, Bill Clinton. you guys feverishly attacked him on everything from foreign policy, to how much he paid for a hair cut. you spewed down right nastiness towards any decisions he made, right or wrong. and now you guys don't like it, now that the tables are turned. well, as much as i don't like it, you had better get used to it. i guess its known as the new politics?
