UGH. I hate stories like this because it can start huge internet rumors that are often entirely unfounded.
And then even worse, if the story actually does turn out to have any merit at all, it means we could be starting over yet again. I just don't want to think about it, either way. I'm going to close my eyes and wish real hard that I never read this.
im with you on this fluffed up op-ed piece, people will read it and assume as fact that zorn's job is in jeopardy. title of the article: Is Zorns Job In Jeopardy? only quote from "inside" source: "the honeymoon is over . . " I should write an article titled "Is Romo Gay?" then quote a random gay person as saying "Romo is so hot!". about the same backing as this article from the DC Examiner, guess they dont mind misleading articles as long as it gets their name out there, which it did. its posted here and where talking about it. f'in lame on their part. |

LOL...exactly! And what about all our late season injuries we are accruing?? Oh! That's Zorn's fault too!?? They could directly correlate why we may lose 3 outta the next 4 games. Zorn can only control so much. This is ridiculous. And please for the love of God....let's not start the Cowher talk again. The guy will never work for a sniffling little corporate mental machine that is Dan Snyder. |

Firing the coach is not going to get our lines to play better.

Ever team deals with injuries, and it's the coaches job to adjust properly and deal with those injuries. What did Zorn think he was going to make it through a whole season without any injuries? |
re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)
A playoff team and a 6th seed that barely got in and went home after one game. We could have VERY easily been 7-9 or worse last year. Rackers kick goes in and we're done. Dallas didn't need the last game of the year so they laid down for us. Yes we can bitch about certain guys not being used correctly but firing Zorn is not the way to go. Talent wise there is really no difference between the 07 and 08 team. If anything we're worse. Did anyone think we'd be better w/out Sean Taylor? Give Zorn 3 years. I can't believe we're even talking about this.
I completely agree. Add to this the fact that the team's current Achilles' heel--the offense--wasn't exactly a juggernaut last year either. We were 20th in points scored, 15th in yards gained, and how much did we upgrade? Three second round picks, and the overall lack of contribution of those picks looks to be a lot more the fault of Cerrato's than Zorn's. And as much as I hate to even acknowledge the possibility of Zorn being fired and replaced by Cowher, keep in mind that Cowher's specialty is defense. |

Zorn should def be fired and i should take his place.I call the game better than him every sunday and I could have made a great qb out of Patrick Ramseyand I have the same amout of head coaching experience as Zorn.Does anybody know where I can submit my application? |
re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)
Please, please please be crap.
If Cowher had come to the Skins in January we'd be looking at an even worse record now (unless his clout could have talked VC out of drafting 3 receivers). Cowher won one SB in 14 years with a 12-9 playoff record. Plus it took him 13 years to win the SB which Snyder would never be patient enough for. His two SB years he rode Dick Lebeau's defense. This guy is not the answer! Frankly, I'm amazed at the number of wins Zorn got out of the talent currently on the team. |

But he's not going to be the solution. |

If Zorn is canned after one year... I am officially not a Skin's fan. I will burn my gear.
I swear. |
re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)
No coach will succeed here until th talent evaluation improves, which means Cerrato has to go. He is on record as saying he doesn't like drafting lineman, he would rather 'get' them after they have proven themselves. Well, by the time we get them, the are the Bruce Smith's and Jason Taylor's of the world.

re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)
I'll be the 1st to say....i'm all for Bill Cowher. He's a proven winner. His teams always had great defenses and a great running game. He'll build our lines properly not just plugging the holes. Yeah our offense would be alittle boring but i want to ****ing win.
Listen, I like Zorn but not as a head coach. Hes great as a Qb coach but not HC. I just don't want to waste 3 to 4 years seeing if Zorn pans out. Sweep this season under the rug hire Bill cut Suisham and we're going to the Superbowl...easy as that :) |
re: D.C. Examiner: Zorn's job in jeopardy? (not so fast he's coming back)
I think there needs to be major changes with the rest of the staff. Zorn needs to delegate responsibilities better, but he also needs to do so with coaches he trusts more. Basically, it seems like anyway, that Zorn gives 110% in preparation every week, but whatever facet of the game he overlooks we simply get outcoached in.
I think that the assistants need to do a better job, or if they aren't allowed to do anything, save Snyder the costs.
I think Blache and Bugel will almost definitely retire (remember Blache wanted to at the end of last season). Hixon, Smith, and probably Palermo will be let go. Gray will move up to DC. Olivadotti will take over the line or possibly special teams. Jim Lind comes over from the Seahawks to take over Buge's spot. |
