Can people stop sourcing PFT so much?

I thought he man they recovered told authorities they had all been together and were wearing life jackets?
You should click on the link first, because PFT is linking to another site (one I know you love :) )

This isn't a "PFT has heard" or "sources tell PFT" situation

Here's another link

Well, I'm not a big fan of Mike Florio, but they do a good job breaking news, and their rumor-mongering has tapered off a bit.

I think they do a good job of giving sources, that part I like. Personally though, I don't pay much attention to their own stories.
Never thought of that BHA. That may indeed be the main contributing factor of why their judment seems off. Because it does'nt make sense to me either. You may be right.
Dehydration can also lead to impaired judgement, but i cant imagine that was a factor so early on. It just seems 2-4hours is far too early for someone to "give up."

Im not trying to sound like a punk, but how hard can it be (from a psychological standpoint) to hold onto a boat while wearing a life jacket for a couple hours? If these guys were drunk and/or "high" on something, it could certainly explain things.

Apparently two of the missing players gave up hope of being rescued. You give up hope after 4 to 6 hours? WTF?

From your link:

As the hours passed, the water's chill overwhelmed their bodies' ability to produce heat, and hypothermia set in. Symptoms can include a gradual loss of mental and physical abilities.

That could explain the kind of erratic behavior Schuyler described, said Susan Bleakley, Will Bleakley's aunt.

"Apparently when you have that, you're not thinking straight," she said.

I'm into fishing and boating and saw the one survivor has done an interview which will air on HBO this week. Here is an interesting report of what happend over those days and how the boat flipped. They actually flipped the boat themself trying to pull loose the anchore which they tied off to the rear of the boat. Thats not a very smart thing to do when your in rough water as they were and when the guy hit the gas the boat flipped right over.
