Is Orakpo a LE or RE?
Would we be stuck again with two high paid RE's?
I'm pretty sure he plays RE. I remember him going against Alex Boone when they played Ohio State. He did'nt look to good in that game from what I remember. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Plus if he gets the same amount in San Francisco he will make even less. I mean lets look at the facts. For one the housing markets on the rocks so selling his current home is going to be difficult. On top of that the taxes in California are backbreaking plus the values of homes are about 3 to 4 times more then they are in other parts of the country. For example a house in Ashburn might cost Evans $500,000. In California, especially San Francisco, that same home will cost him about $1.5 million. Basically if the offers are similar he would do best to stay put.
Let's see sales tax in SF and the Peninsula is 8.25% soon to be 9.25% due to state budget crisis, car registration is going to double. Housing is expensive but prices have dropped about 30-40%, thank god they repealed the extra $0.12 Cents a gallon tax that was on the original budget. Public schools suck, not like the one I attended in Rockville back in the 70's. There's a lot of negatives, but at the same lots of nice things. If he's single, he'll love it, more chicks for guys due to gay population. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Evans has signed with 49ers, PFT reports, for what it's worth.

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Damn, guess we're stuck with Daniels.

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Uhhhhhhhhhh. Lame.

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Can we now change this thread to "Say Goodbye To Evans"

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
So what's the verdict... mistake by the FO in balking at the Taylor decision so that we lost control of the Evans situation? Or were we just half-hearted on the Evans deal no matter what?

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Seems to me there wasn't much interest in Evans right from the start.

Actually now that you mention it the housing thing might be a wash as even though he'll have trouble selling it the fact remains that it's also easy to buy but I still stand by the statement of house values being 3-4 times higher in California. As for the single thing well theres a saying that even when NFL players are married they're still single. Antonio Pierce told me that one. By all accounts though Evans is married so it's not to much of a selling point for him. Ironically though not being able to wear 92 is a huge selling point for Evans. How do you know so much about California? :D |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Evans has been solid for us. And I predict he'll thrive rushing the passer (at DE or DT) with Haynesworth attracting a lot of attention.

re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Ugh, 2 for 3.8. That's Hackett-esque.
On a totally unrelated note, lets spend that money on DJ Hackett. |
re: Update: Evans Signs with Niners
Why is Igor still unsigned and is there any chance we go after him?

ProFootballTalk.com - EVANS CHOOSES NINERS
PFT is inadmissable here on the Warpath and should only be used to evaluate what leads should be followed.
Why is Igor still unsigned and is there any chance we go after him?
Like I mentioned on another thread. If you haven't heard anything by now then chances are nothing's going to happen on the "player x" front. |
