Everyone is very eager to sign free agents. The guy was drafted in the 7th round, yet theres no faith we can draft a right tackle in the draft. Even using our later round picks. We have the best oline coach in the game give him a chance to do the same.

Its kinda hard to predict our draft this year. Who saw last years coming? Zorn changed the game plan. Who knows we might take a receiver again this year, turn into detroit. Maybe he wants to run 3 TE sets and needs anotehr one of them lol.

The problem is we don't have any cap room to sign him. If we cut Rabach that would save us 2.3 mil, and give us some money to sign him. But, I don't know why we (or anyone) haven't made any attempt to contact him, or schedule a visit because he's a decent player, with good size and let up 4.5 sacks last year. If we signed him, it would give us the luxury of drafting elsewhere like DE/OLB at 13 instead of RT.

actually we do have enough cap room to sign him and take about a 3.5 mill hit (thanks to Schneeds Cap Status thread). I think this is just the FO playing a wait and see approach because they only get one shot at getting a FA OT.

Yes. I was hoping the Redskins would grab Shaffer but he is no world beater and there should be other options later.

I'm really starting to come around on Eben Britton. The only thing that concerns me though is his finesse nature as a run blocker but he seems like he has the quickness and smarts to overcome it. Either way he will improve our passing game by leaps and bounds. Plus I'm comforted by the fact that Samuals was seemingly a finesse guy in college, so it's definitely something that can be overcome.

No he hasn't but I think he might sign with the 49ers, and we haven't expressed any interst in him but it might happen.

Good point... although it somehow looks like Oher may fall further than i thought possible. Meanwhile it won't surprise me if Andre Smith goes in the top 10 now.
