Wow, now we all feel like jerks. I hope everything turns out OK. You should use this as an opportunity to let her know she can (and should) tell you anything, that you're willing to listen and deal with anything with her. It's not an excuse to treat you bad, but it is very understandable...she was probably very scared and was afraid of the worst. She can keep her tires. |

I felt a thread title edit was in order

That sucks dude, hope things work out for the best. I find it troubling that she didn't feel comfortable to tell you what's going on.
Apparently a few months ago she felt a bump on her chest and didnt want to tell me, then she got real sick for a while last month so she went to the doctor like 2 weeks ago and had some tests done on it and hasnt heard back yet. She said she has been scared and didnt want to tell me so she has been acting short with me so I wont worry.
Damn, who would have thought the Schneed would exhibit the best understanding of the female gender up in here? Not Schneed, I'll tell you that! Sorry to hear that, man. The tendency to bottle stuff up isn't necessarily a male or female thing, either. It's just a personality thing, some people just tend to internalize this stuff. My wife does the same thing (maybe that's why my radar went up that something might be wrong). I have to coax her to talk. At first she's resistant, but I'm persistent without being pushy, and when she does eventually reluctantly talk it out she always feels better afterward. Keep interested, read her moods, and ask her to talk about it when appropriate. It shows you care, and that's the best thing for her right now. |

I am glad for you that there is no one else...I am very concerned about her situation and I wish you and her the best. I know there is very little that can upset a woman more than the possibility of breast cancer. It's certainly understandable she was short. I'm glad you opened her up and got her to communicate with you. I said it in back to back posts on this thread...communication is always the key. If she comminucated with you about this months ago, then you would have understood and not had to write this thread. Hopefully this happening will help both of you learn to communicate better. Sometimes even in the worst of situations, there is a bright spot. Good luck Quake...we will be praying for you. You can e-mail me to talk if you wish. |
Re: (Edited) Just When Us Men Thought We Couldn't Make Any More Ignorant Assumptions...
Hey quake, hope all is well with your lady. Honestly, it may not be all that cool, though that she wouldn't feel close enough to let you deal with this with her, but whether that's a big deal or not is for you to decide, and there will be plenty of time for that later. Just offer comfort now.
best of luck... |

We're men! It just sort of comes with the territory...............sometimes -That ones for you Lady B. Hey Quake, Give us a bump when you know more ehhh? Good Luck to you |
Re: (Edited) Just When Us Men Thought We Couldn't Make Any More Ignorant Assumptions...
There is something with her mood swing that does not quite compute. You would think that with a possibly serious medical condition, that she would not be so strong willed in asserting some kind of indepedence complex. I think that most people when facing something like what she is experiencing, would look to their partner for support, and not try to drive them away. You guys need to seriously keep open the lines of communication. You need to be her support element at all costs. Good luck pal.

Whoa man, sympathy is one thing but don't blame her inability to communicate on yourself. |
