We are like a frat, this is just the preliminary phase, wait till hell week...goats and accordions
Please, heres how the newcomers deal really works. You make a few stupid threads (like a DE thread in 2006 *cough*) you get called out on it.
If you sound like an eager six year old thats using Madden to evaluate players you get called out on it. If you're lucky someone will see it's your first post and give you a welcome to the forum post. Other then that new guys around here are just guys with low post counts. Take it from me. I'm ranked 44th on the forum and my post still suck.
diehard you need to take a lesson from truyful, we were really harsh on him and we basically beat him to the ground. Now we don't mind him, well everyone except Schneed.

I'm glad I didn't rush your fraternity. We just had to do push-ups. What did you do with the goat? Wait, I don't want to know.

Re: Wanted: Playmakers

Thanks to everyone. No hard feelings. I just recently became OK with the notion of drafting Sanchez at 13th overall, not trading away more picks. I was all for Campbell when talks surfaced about Cutler but I then started thinking about the situation I was (and will ever be) in at my job. Being with this company before it opened it's doors and basically working my way up the corporate ladder, there was a lot of instability from the top down and many of my bosses who were axed wanted to improve the production that I gave. I'm sure you guys can relate to the competitiveness in the workplace. Co-managers and workers who want your job but don't really know or aren't willing to do it consistently as long as I have. And then thery're the outsiders who have shined elsewhere... How can I be against Campbell in his situation? Whether he's is the redskins franchise QB come Sanchez, Tim Tebow, or next off-season's hot veteran FA we (Campbell and I and you to, if you can relate) have have to show and prove. Instability and other excuses aside. Keep in mind if we re-sign Campbell that doesn't make give him immunity from upgraditis from FO. I'm a Redskins fan. And that's preference over it's players and coaches. Thanks for reading.

Moss always grows on the north side of the tree

Re: Wanted: Playmakers
Moss? Check.
Cooley? Check.
Randle El (now known as Santonio Holmes)? Check.
Jason Campbell? Hmmm.

I too am warming up to the idea that if we want to get to the promise land it may take drafting Sanchez or probably giving Colt Brennan a shot. Why? It's no secret that Campbell has had a lot of instablility as far a OCs go but, look at his game. Even at Auburn his impressive W-L record and national championship title was helped much by a strong defense and running game (Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown). This reveals Campbell strengths. He does a great job making safe reads and takes very few chances with the football. The Skins have had a top 5 defense for most of the years he's started and a very effective running game so, we can afford to be more risky in that regard. Also, even though we have had great defenses, we are not one that have a lot of takeaways, or points off of, as the 2000 Ravens did. And before you say the WR corps was the culprit, Moss, Randle El, and Cooley are better than Cutler's Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, and Daniel Graham/Tony Sheffler. I believe Cutler's big numbers are a result of his ability to let it fly (watch what he does in CHI under his new OC and former FA bust Brandon Lloyd and REL-like Devin Hester). Something Campbell doesn't risk doing often. That's why Jay Cutler or a Brett Farve will have a eye-popping number of INTs to go with thier impressive TD stats. Who's to argue that Farve isn't a winner? A franchise QB? A team can surely win with Jason Campbell or a Trent Dilfer but, you have to make sure other attributes of the team make up for the lack of risk taking.
Whoa! Hold Up!

You can't talk about play-makers and leave out . . . .

Reed "MFing" Doughty!

Re: Wanted: Playmakers

This is a good thread to jump start. We need to make some plays, period. I'm not going to get into the JC bashing of this week (much of which is undeserved). We need some folks to step it up though.

Playmakers for week 2:
Moss, Kelly- I'd like to see both have a solid game here
CP- I love the guy, but when was the last "wow" play that he's made. Where's our change of pace guy, like a Bradshaw or a Spruill? CP is solid though and he should be looking at a 100 yard game.
Laron Landry- He made a great play on the int last week, but does stupid stuff almost every week, step it up.
Zorn- it's time to light up the scoreboard. Call a good game.

Re: Wanted: Playmakers

Why is the thread in NFL Draft Central?

JoeRedskin 09-17-2009 02:48 PM

Re: Wanted: Playmakers

Because it started as a draft thread - i.e. "we need to draft playmakers".

It sort of does, but not entirely. Oh well
