Actually, if you ask the reporters who've watched both Ramsey and Brunell in practice (myself included) there's no comparison in arm strength. Brunell's passes simply don't get to the receivers as quickly as Ramsey's, and his deep passes are generally late and underthrown. Deep passes have got to lead the receiver, and drop in over the coverage. Brunell doesn't have the arm to do that anymore. At least, not as much as Ramsey does.

guess thats it huh?

I'm so depressed. The fact that he said he wouldnt even consider it really irks me. I understand that its not just Mark Brunell, and hes getting piled on more than he desereves, but the exact things that are the problem, are things Ramsey is good at. I am almost to the point where I hope Brunell has to leave a game with a minor injury ( I never wish major injury on anyone ), and Ramsey just has a feild day. I'm taking a nap..... Same sh*t, different year |
The Review Guy's name is Larry. Just for some FYI, so we have a name as too who's cost us challenges... its LARRY!
Larry Hill, to be precise Brunell's arm strength doesn't even remotely compare to Ramsey's. Heck, even Hamdan had more arm strength. Shoot, I think I've seen Rod Gardner gun it better than Brunell when he's thrown the ball |
we better finish with a better record than last year... even spurrier came in yr 1 and went 8-8... why? he had a defense that kept that poor offense in games... gibbs has the same now so what's the deal? 107 yards!!??!!??
ZZZzzz |
If it was Ramsey throwing the ball to Coles on that fly rout lastnight where deion got his int, IMO it would have be a touchdown. Anyone watching the game could clearly see that the ball was underthrown by a mile and Coles had a step on the "2" defenders. But that is just my opinion.

Larry Hill.. Check! Who's ready for the angry mob treatment!
God, another week of Brunell. Holloween's coming up, maybe Brunell could dress up as a quarterback! |
VTskin, spurrier went 7-9 that year... right now gibbs isnt getting it done though and from what i heard, is refusing to change :(

i liked the dood doing the mike check/comedy hour... he gave props to someone there for being able to get really good weed. very random!

ha, I remember that. He was talking about a friend of mine, Dave Satchell, local sports cameraman. Looks like Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. |

You know I gave the credit for it, I will again this week. I'm just so upset about it right now, I'm just trying to stay away because I hate badmouthing someone from our team, but I really am pissed about Brunell. Replacing him could have a huge effect on our offensive production, and only replacing him.... for example, think about it like this.... If you put say Priet Holmes in Portis's spot, hes going ot do just as bad becasue there are no holes. Does anyone think having a Holmes or Tomlinson back there would make a difference? If we had say Issac Bruce and Torry Holt as wideouts instead of Coles and Gardner, does anyone really think there would be a difference. Maybe a catch or two, but in the long run theres no difference. If we had a whole new offensive line, does anyone think it would make a difference in whats going on right now? The only postion that would matter is right tackle, but if we replaced the whole offensive line, we wouldnt be that much better. Now riddle me this... If we put Peyton Manning in at Quarterback in our system. Is it just me, or do people think we would move the ball a hell of alot more effectivley than we are now? I think we do. I think changing that one postion, changes the entire game for our offense. Now dont misquote me, Ramsey is NO Petyon Manning, but hes young, and has a cannon and can air it out so teams respect our run. When Gibbs ( I'm really trying to stay far away from bashing him or what he thinks, because I belive in him 100% outside of the qb issue ), but when Gibbs is trying to defend Brunells ability to air out the ball, on a pass in which he underthrew his target and was picked off... thats telling me somthing. I dont know, everyone has their own takes. If we lose to Chicago, and Brunell plays like sh*t and stays our QB, so help me god. |
i agree... qb is the weakest link for total offense, and a good passing game would cover up the run blocking on the O line... if we had a moss or TO i think it would make a difference... but thats 2 WRs out of hundreds in the league...

What I have heard over and over again is how strong Ramsey's arm is. How many long passes over 45yds are thrown on an average in one game? 2,3 or 4? The reality is the long pass is a low percentage play. What I think is being over looked in Ramsey is his lack of leadership, instinctive knowledge about reading defensive blitzes and his immobility. Ramsey also stuggles at getting the plays off in time. I'm certain that with this poor offensive line Ramsey will not be successful at this point. If he understood what he was doing in practice, he would be starting right now. |

There is nothing that you can point to in Ramsey's overall playing that would justify him replacing Brunell. Sure I'm dissappointed in Brunell's game on Sunday and it was his worst game, but he had us in every game until the end. Dropped passes won't help. Penalties won't help. And an weak offensive line will not help. Ramsey would have been sacked 15 times by now. Please don't call for Hasselbeck after just one game that Ramsey starts in please. |
