My fault, thought that you were saying 2008 was part of his big decline. |
Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
With TO it's not so much about his production levels either up or down, rather more about the distraction he is. His abilities cannot be disputed, who left in the league want to deal with the drama he brings?
Thats what makes him so intriguing. He a 2 edged sword. You want him on your team because you know what he can bring. You don't want him on your team because you know what he can bring. |
Trade Kelly, and swap 1sts for Marshall, Sign T.O..........Draft Okung and Our offense is top 10 if all goes well. I think we would have a powerhouse offense and a great defense like we usually do!
if we swap first rounders for marshall how do you plan on drafting Okung? |

Yes I was. He had a few games in a row with under 40 yards and then he busts out 213 yards against a San Francisco team that gave him a free release throughout the whole game because Singletary believed they could stop him for whatever reason and 100+ yards that blowout LOSS to Philly. Shawn Springs basically handed folks the gameplan to limit him that year and beyond. Jam him at the line and he isn't going to always beat it anymore. He also had averaged 73+ yards a game or more every season from 2000 to 2007, sometimes much more. The 65.3 in 2008 is a significant decline. |
Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
i don't think it'd work out. remember, romo his his quarterback. cry.

Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
I would take him if:
-he gets a one strike keep your mouth shut rule -he comes with a roll of duct tape to shut him up -shannahan truly believes he still has something left in him If not, absolutely NO. |

Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
Well, if its an arguement about T.O., here is my view -
He is heads and shoulders better than any receiver on this roster, bar none. We can get him for 0 players, and for 0 draft pix, and would instantly give us a top tier wideout and a nice weapon to pair up with Thomas and Cooley. If we get the Tackles taken care of, I can see us becoming the Philly of a couple years back. Great team, but no premium wideouts to toss the rock to. (I dunno about 6 mil a year tho, slim that down to 3 1/2 - 4) He Still can produce, and is a freakish physical specimen. 3 year deal wouldn't be unheard of, with plenty of stipulations and stock full of unguaranteed $$$ based on perforance on and off the field. I think he wants to destroy the stigma he has given himself. He is nearing the end of his career, and wants to be remembered as a great wide out, and possibly a champion. If there is any ex cowboy i'd sign, it would be T.O. With Donovans blessing. If he thinks it will be a bad situation, then pass. |
Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?
No way in hell do we bring Owens in. I don't care if McNabb & Owens are playing pick-up B-ball on Pros vs. Joes or not.
Does anyone remember this: McNabb: T.O. situation was about money, power - NFL - ESPN This is some very deep stuff, stuff that doesn't go away. No way I even consider bringing Owens here and digging up all this garbage. This is the absolute last thing needed in DC. |

Trent Edwards and Brian Brohm?? He produced just fine despite having the WORST starting QB in all of football. The guy is still top 15 in the league, maybe still top 10. |

Fitzpatrick is the dude you're talking about and Russell and Anderson are FAR, FAR worse. And I still remember 2008 and how at least some folks were jabbing at his inability to break being jammed at the line of scrimmage. It used to be he was double-teamed and it didn't matter. Suddenly, he became just a little more stoppable. And TO is ALWAYS a model teammate year 1. It's year two or three when the blowups occur. |
