So Jason Campbell doesn't count?
$5 says Jason Campbell will end up being the new Patrick Ramsey; "We never gave him a chance." "He didn't get time to adjust to the system" _______ (enter lame excuse here)

That's right, I said it.
QB has by far the greatest impact on your team of any position. To have one who had just gone to the pro bowl, and bring in another guy who had no leadership skills? Makes no sense.

Johnson could have been a very good Redskins QB for several years after that.

George.
Jeff George seems like a pretty easy answer. Both Deion and Haynesworth played as advertised. Archuleta underachieved badly, but that wasn't the fault of the signing, which had it's merits. George was going to be a wrongheaded move from the get go.
The thing with AA is, did he go on to do anything anywhere else?? If he did I would buy the scapegoat argument. He was a bad move no doubt but I think we have to point the finger more at Williams and Gibbs for that. I don't think Snyder was the one that roped that turd.

Deion, George, and Fat Al are all on Snyder.
His career was pretty much over when he got here. It's not completely unheard of for a skill position player (or defender) to be completely cooked by the age of 27, though it's very rare. I certainly haven't figured out a way to predict it.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened with Archuleta above all, is that he was a severely declining player in 2006, when there was almost no reason to think he would be, and he continued to decline after he left Washington. By 29, the guy couldn't even get a camp invite.

And at this point if he doesn't stay with the Raiders he will bounce from team to team as an eternal backup.

Another in the proud history of NFL backup qb's with Redskins ties. If we keep it up, we may have a backup on every other team in the league, and when the time is right, we will activate our sleeper cell qb plan

We do need to thank the Chicago Bears for helping us out of a few of the worst ones...Arch and Lloyd. They took our trash...TWICE.

Were these really Snyder's signings, or Vinny's? I have the feeling Snyder just wrote the checks.

I could see JC being more of a Stan Humphries or Trent Green...career takes off after he leaves us...and all we have are the "what if" and "why not with us" questions.
Jeff George played good for us that year he was a backup. I to this year don't know if he was the sole problem. The skins have been bad for a long time. George played great in Oakland and Minnesota afterwards. I think by the time he got his attitude problems fixed, teams didn't want to give him a chance anymore.

Oh and BTW, i watched that dude workout last summer. He still has a rifle for an arm. He flicked it 60 yards or more like it was cake. He still makes all the throws. Why that guy isn't even a backup somewhere i can't understand....
George played quite well when Johnson was hurt in 2000 but he's just a total headcase. A guy that talented playing QB should not be bouncing around the NFL like he did. No one could ever deal with the guy.

Re: Dan Snyder's worst free-agent signing

It has to be AA. He didn't even contribute anything on the field. At least the other guys made it on the field and did play and start. AA lost his job in training camp cause he sucked so bad. He was the highest paid punt protector inthe history of the NFL. lol.

Just the idea that Deion wore Burgundy and Gold still turns my stomach. George probably was the worst on the field move but I just can't stand Neon. Still can't even watch him on NFLN.

Re: Dan Snyder's worst free-agent signing

Adam Archuletta!

Dan Snyder gave him the largest contract in the history of the National Football League for a safety. Dan played hard ball with Ryan Clark and wouldn't sign him for 2 million and paid 10 million for Archuletta. Archuletta couldn't tackle or cover. Total waste.

^ Yeah, I wish we had kept Clark.
