They are ranked 27th against the rush where do you get this.
Green Bay looked bad statistically bad against the run. It turned out they had more than enough talent on their D-line to knock the shit out of our pansy interior. Rabach and Hicks, R.I.P this week. |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
We were able to pound it pretty good against the Bears run D, which is much better than Detroit's (5th vs. 27th). The Lions are not strong against the run, I would expect Torain to have a heavy workload this week.

If I remember right we did win that game. Also GB has a track record of having a decent D so its not a fluke when they play tough D. Lions don't have any track record of having a good D. |

This is not about whether we won or lost. Not one of my sentences had "winning the game" as the subject of the sentence. The subject was about the Packers' stats going into that week. They came into the game with statistical rankings that weren't so hot, but they came and stuffed our running game. This shows that stats can mask certain strengths of the opposing team. Incidentally, Miami was able to get a few decent runs against them the next week, which further highlights our interior's crappiness. This also isn't about track records. This is about freaking who is going to win the damn battles on the LOS. If Suh wins more of those battles than he loses, McNabb and friends are going to be in a world of hurt. Detroit didn't have Suh before. They do now. Don't act like he's not there. Those "track records" are no longer going to be reliable once they add good personnel. Who won the LOS battle between their D-line and our O-line? Green Bay's DL won against us easily. That in turn led to a shitty rushing average. |
Haynesworth will own theirs. I think he's officially back. Had a huge game vs. Chicago.
Maybe it's because of FA but it sure seems like we have had a lot of teacher/mentor vs player matchups. Reid/Mcnabb Shanahan, K/ Schaub Shanahan,M/ Cutler this week - Schwarz/Haynesworth. Unfortunately, I think this weeks matchup is the first to clearly favor the other team. In the first three, our asset certainly could provide valuable thoughts about the other team's. This week though, I doubt AH will tell us anything useful about Schwarz's D, while Schwarz will know AH's game inside out. |

He'll probably give the lowdown on stunts, gimmicks, playcalling trends, etc. Hell, he may even give out info on the defensive audibles. I do know that Schwartz emphasizes that the 4 DL must be able to generate pressure by themselves. |

While he might have a little useful info, Schwarz will have an abundance of knowledge regarding AH, what motivates/demotivates him, how to get him out of the game mentally, etc. |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
If AH comes into this game ready to rock like he did last week, it's not going to matter much what Schwartz knows about him. Any sort of knowledge isn't going to stop that bull rush.

Skins are gonna blow them away but the lions are gonna make the score look a little better at the end! |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
Not sure this team can win 2 road games in a row, and until the offense shows it can score more then I'd say Detroit wins this game 24-17.

Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
I don't really think the AH/schwartz thing will have much of an impact on this game. This looks like it'll be a defensive game; the skins defense outmatches the lions offense (they may give up yards but will limit points and create turnovers), and the skins offense has shown nothing to suggest they'll put up a lot of points on sunday. I'm also afraid of Suh having a field day against our interior OL, but like last week, if Torain breaks the first level he'll have some good runs - I think he racks up at least 80 yards this week. I would love to say the skins win in a blowout, but there's no evidence that supports that outcome, and overwhelming evidence that this will be another close one. 50/50 chance skins win this.

You'll get used to this kind of fan around here. I don't get it either. |
