Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
This thread is absolutely retarded. Doesn't matter what qb is under center, when you have a crappy offensive line anybody will be play like McNabb today. Even on plays where he didn't get sacked, it hurts. When you can't trust the line in front of you, your timing is off, you think too much and your play slows down, and it's evidenced just like it was today.
Not only is McNabb going to be our qb against the Eagles, but he will be against every opponent for the rest of the season most likely. Mainly because he gives us the best chance to win. Beyond this season is when the real questions will emerge, especially if McNabb doesn't impress. I mean did anybody watch Rabach get repeatedly blown up against the Lions? He's consistently bad, he gets dominated by stronger defensive tackles and Hicks/Lichtensteiger aren't anything special either. We need a new interior offensive line. You can keep blaming the qb all you want, no matter what season it is, but eventually people need to recognize the offensive line is ****ing our shit up. |
Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
The O-line is a shitshow (Casey Rabach is officially my least favorite player), we only have two starting pass catchers even worthy of an NFL roster, and we were with a 3rd string UDFA RB for a large part of the game. There's really nothing redeemable about our offense at all.
McNabb certainly wasn't any part of a solution today, but he was far from the biggest problem. However if Grossman is better at the 2 minute offense and understands the offense better overall... now that's a BIG issue in my mind. Maybe there's more than meets the eye as far as how long McNabb's extension is taking.... |
Donovan isn't getting benched for good. He had a rough day and Shanny put in Rex to try and start a spark. It obviously didn't work out. This team is still a work in progress and probably will be for another 2-3 seasons til the right pieces are put in place. That is why I am second guessing the acquisition of Donovan. He is obviously worthless(any Qb would be) with a crappy o line and the accompanying non existent ground game, so it sort of defeats the purpose of acquiring him in the first place. Those picks could have been spent on two linemen or a lineman and a WR, or even a decent LB or CB.
Exactly. Could not agree with you more. The problem is you don't bring in Shanahan for a rebuilding project. IMO..and I've said this before, we should've just done what Tampa Bay is doing. Instead we've got the oldest team in the NFL that is probably going to win 6-8 games, 9 if we're lucky. |

Yes the O-line is crappy but that INT was the deal breaker |

He's just not comfortable in this offense yet and that's why they need to go with Grossman. |

Both of these blowhards should've been released last season. All they do is screw it up week in and week out. |
Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
Even after McNabbs interception there was still plenty of time left in the game. The fumble was brutal

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
I don't know why people are calling for McNabb's head either. I mean geez, why not just throw Beck in there to QB while we're at it? Come on man, we're worlds better with McNabb at the helm than we were with Campbell. If anyone deserves their heads on a platter, its the O-line. They freaking stink. Where the hell is Bugel when we need him?
I guess there's just no pleasing some people. |
Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
Not sure what Bugel would do that he didn't last year

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
McNabb needs to go to the bench. He simply misses too many routine throws. And for the big plays that he hits there are 3-4 that should've been made but weren't. They need to put in Rex and let's see what he can do. After 8 weeks I've seen enough.
Didn't you make a comment last week that we didn't have anyone better? |
Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
Some of the blame has to go to Kyle S. He's needed to go with max protection way earlier than he did.

Quarterback pressure is mental as much as it is physical. When you get hit or sacked on that many plays, you lose confidence in the ability of the line to protect you, and it affects decision making and comfort in the pocket. McNabb looked shaky today because he was always expecting to be laid out, and it clearly affected his game. Does he look like this every week? No. Would grossman somehow have been able to ignore the mental stress that comes with getting destroyed all day long? No. I don't know how you can say rex gives the skins a better chance to win... that's just simply untrue. |
Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
I wonder if Dockery could play C or RG? I hate to see him being wasted on the bench.
