Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Lets go on and get through this season, take AJ Green in the first and Kellen Moore in the 2nd !
F it, I have no ties to Donovan. I like him as a player but as a Redskin, so the F what. Be easy champ, go have a nice couple seasons in AZ and let us fix this shyt here. |
I just hope that if we do cut McNabb we don't move to Grossman or Beck as the answer for 2011.
But see this is news to get worked up over, Hunter Smith being waived...not so much
ditto that I think it's pretty clear now that DM will be dealt in the offseason. Question is what is their plan now? A rookie? A free agent? It can't be Grossman or Beck, it just can't be. Can it? |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
OK, what other team had these same issues with a coach and they have done just fine?
Also we don't know this for sure but if it is true maybe they want to see if we chould keep him as our 2nd string QB.
If your talking about keeping Mcnabb as 2nd string that can't happen. You can't afford to pay a back up 10 million next year. And just like everyone else I dislike Danny Schneider but in this case, I would probably be ripping Shanny a new one for costing me essentially 3.4 million for 3 games by Mcnabb when they resigned him. Might as well have used that money and fed the homeless or something. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
I don't have a problem with them benching him. It's how the Shanahan's handle it. YOU'RE 5-8 AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE! Just come out and tell Rex on Mon so he can prepare and show DM respect and tell him Monday. You wait til Fri??? WTF?? I don't know about anyone else but I'm slowly getting tired of the Shanahans.

Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
So I guess a move like this confirms that Mike Shanahan will probably be fired at season's end???

But see this is news to get worked up over, Hunter Smith being waived...not so much
thats the thing that gets me. why would we bench mcnabb at this point? it forces us to cut him. if we had just let the season play out, we could have traded him to arizona or minnesota in the offseason. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Are we trying Grossman out or KS? I think it is a combo, and I am fine with a ham sandwich starting for a year if we can get Line help from dealing McNabb.

Your tea leaves are once again way off my friend. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Exactly, with no O line, it doesn't matter. Now what kills me is with the picks we gave up for McNabb we could have fixed our entire O line problem in one draft next year and been on our way to recovery.
There have been many times where he's had good protection and he's throwing late or into the ground. I haven't see DM throw anyone open this year. The wr's are always reaching back or jumping up high to catch balls. Don't have a problem with them benching him, it's how they handle it that pisses me off. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
I think this pretty much cements the fact that Shanahan's regime has been a big disappointment thus far.
While I'd be stunned if The Danny axed him after just one year, it's safe to say MS hasn't really given us anything other than his big name. Is it me, or does this season feel even worse than last year? I mean, last year it didn't take long for things to unravel into a comical circus that we all knew would end, and that at least gave us some promise for sweeping changes in 2010. Now those changes have been instituted in what was the biggest organizational change since Danny bought the team, and the result? Well... Shanahan is going to need more than one year, but I'm not optimistic anymore.
That's why I wasn't willing to paint Shanahan our savior just because of the resume he brought. I said when he was hired, he hasn't done anything for the Redskins yet, and until he does, he's just another coach that was going to have to prove himself. So far, not so good. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Hard to argue with DM right now. I'd want outta here too if I were him.
He could have improved his case by playing well. As it stands, it's a "what is" league. And in 2010, D McNabb is a pretty damn horrible QB. |

They knew at the beginning of the week. It's only now the rest of us are finding out |

Yeah he certainly hasn't played great. Horrible might be a bit of a stretch, definitely subpar. Still, both sides have to share blame. Mike's handling of the situation has been less than ideal and DM is only here because the Shanahans wanted him here, at one time that is. |
Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Mike Wilbon, Thom Loverro, and Steve Czaban all think that Shanahan's essentially one and done in Washington ala Marty and this is Shanahan's way of saying "F U" to washington. he's doing "donoughts in the lawn" on his way out.

Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday
Just listening to Theismann on NFL network and not hearing a ringing endorsement of DMac. He says basically that DMac played himself out of the position.
