It's Like 1A and 1B they are both top 5 talent.. And how can u say Peterson is better? Prince has played just as many top WRs I'm his career |
Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
I honestly wished I knew more about college players other than VA Tech....LOL! I've seen Luck play, but he's not coming out this year. I've only seen Cam Newton once, and I haven't seen Locker play. So, I can't really make a good judgment on who I think would be the better QB. I'm just so nervous about the 'skins drafting a QB so high in the draft. Seems like we never really have any luck with that (dont' get the puns started again...lol!)

I suggest you take the 20 minutes to watch these two videos. It'll give you a much better understanding on the two quarterbacks most likely to be drafted by the Skins. Peterson is faster, stronger, a better athlete, contributes in the return game, better tackler, shut down AJ Green and Julio Jones in 09 (Julio got him back this yr) just a junior, and has more upside and potential than Prince |
I'm not digging on your Round 1 choice because I just don't know the kid but the position has me baffled? Didn't MS pick a FB last year and when he was allowed to play he played well? Matter of fact I think he scored a TD or two? I could be wrong though.
I just don't see the team waisting a #10 pick on a FB since we picked one up last year who did pretty well and has a lot of up side. I like your Round 2 pick though if he's still there. However since I'm a Dalton fan as of recently I'd probably either try for more picks to get another 2nd or a 3rd round pick to get Dalton or simply take Dalton in the 2nd.
Dude, I appreciate the debate. I know it sounds crazy, but I think if given the chance I could impress Shanny and be the next Peyton Hillis, even at 10. Oh and Im gonna be there in the green room. SS, pass my name on to Kiper to see what he says about my game. |
Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
I am higher on Ponder and more skeptical of Locker than the OP. I think Ponder is our man.
And, as much as we need help at RG, I think the defense needs more help. It would be easier to find a decent free agent guard than it would be to find the kind of help that we need on defense. Besides, maybe one of our young bucks at guard can step up and claim the spot. Ergo: 1 - Von Miller DE 2 - Christian Ponder QB Then we sign lots of UDFA's because the draft was only 2 rounds. :)
Agreed about Ponder. However, it's still blatantly obvious that our QBs need a better line. I think we're set at both tackles and Center can be fixed by moving one of our several G-C players into Rabach's place, so they'll be playing in-position and solving a need. So, I think a Guard is needed in Round 1. 1- Mike Pouncey - The top-rated Guard by many...don't expect him to be there in Round 2. He fills a HUGE need, pick him if available. Bonus points for being able to play Center too. 2 - Christian Ponder Jake Locker = Please no. |

Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
I have my doubts that Von Miller will be available at the 10 spot and I don't think Quinn will be either, but if I had to chose one of those two it would be Quinn.
My draft would be: 1. Quinn or Miller whichever one is available, preferably Quinn. 2. Locker if he were to fall that far. Otherwise, I'd go with the best available player leaning towards interior linemen, offensive or defensive. I mentioned previously that I was interested in seeing what scouts think of Mitch Mustain. He got very little playing time, but he was perhaps the most sought after recruit during his HS career. I'd be willing to bet that he'd be available in the 7th round or even as a free agent. This would allow us to fill other spots considering that Rexy will be starting next year anyways, at least most likely. |

I wonder if Peterson won't end up a safety. He has the size and is a pretty good hitter. Hell, both him and Prince have the size to play safety. Prince I think is better in coverage where as Peterson is a little more raw in coverage, but still better than most of our dbs lol. |
Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
I like Christian Ponder a lot, but I think if I had my choice of him or Pat Devlin in round two, I'd take Devlin. I don't think there is a more accurate passer in this class than Devlin.
He's going to need work in under center formations because Delaware runs their pro style sets out of a pistol-like shotgun. But Flacco ran the same formations in the same offense, and he started on day one for the Ravens (thanks, tonsillitis!). Devlin is more pro ready than Flacco was, is more accurate, and makes quicker decisions. On the down side, he's really not a great passer when flushed from the pocket by pressure. I was really impressed, instead, by his ability to stand in and deliver accurately with no space to step. I think I'd value both Devlin and Ponder as late first rounders. Ponder throws the better deep ball of the two...at least evidenced in 2009, when his elbow wasn't an issue. |
Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
Someone should give me a reason to really, really love Andy Dalton. I never watched the TCU offense with great confidence in the past couple of years, despite all the winning and all the weapons. Dalton has played horrible over certain stretches (first 33 minutes of the SMU game this year, for example). At the end of the day though, I can't really argue against Andy Dalton's accomplishments, and the scouts seem to think he's a real legit mid round pick.
I just wish there was a single thing about Dalton that suggested he was a pro prospect. When you are a mountain west QB who does everything well, and nothing great, that means you become an NFL third stringer. What am I missing on Dalton that would justify a day two pick on him? |
Re: As Is 2 Round Dream Draft
Ponder reminds me a lot of a more mobile Brad Johnson. Not that Johnson was a bad player, hell there were a couple years when he was on of the more under-appreciated qbs in football. That being said he was not a franchise qb and that's what we need. I really don't think there is a true franchise qb in this draft, but I feel that Locker fits the mold more than any of the other top qbs. Devlin interests me but not having a 3rd or 4th round pick makes me not so interested in going that way. We have too many positions that we could impact with this draft to risk chasing someone like Devlin in the second round. If we are able to acquire a 3rd and 4th via trading away McNabb and the Tub-O-Lard and possibly trading down in the first, I'd feel more comfortable "reaching" for a guy like Devlin or even Ponder. I guess I'm not as keen on Ponder as others.
