Re: Sunday Ticket and PS3
This is ****ing bullshit you can only get it if you're not able to get direct tv. I don't want ****ing direct tv, but I do want sunday ticket, guess it's back to streaming on my own. haven't missed a game in 2 years. **** you direct tv!

Re: Sunday Ticket and PS3
in my opinion, the cost difference in the NFLs online package ($40) vs. directtv ($350) is substantial enough to motivate me to just go with the NFLs package. sure, its delayed, but its delayed less than 24 hours. From what i've read, a sunday game at 1pm or 4pm will be available online shortly after the SNF game ends... so in that case were talking about a delay of less than 12 hours. For most games, i'll watch the game on TV or be able to go to a sports bar. If im too busy to go to a sportsbar, i probably will have to watch the game delayed anyways. a few more hours of waiting wont kill me.

being mad at directv shows you have absolutely no idea what youre talking about. you nave no reason to be mad at directv. if you want, be mad at the NFL for negotiating the sunday ticket package to begin with directv in the first place. or be mad at your preferred cable provider for not negotiating a deal with the NFL themselves and instead of allowing directv to have a monopoly on all the games. all directv is doing is maximizing revenue. in my opinion, directv has gone above and beyond by making sunday ticket to non-subscribers in the first place. |

If you want the Ticket you have to pay, just like DirecTV subscribers do. Do you think they're supposed to lower the price for non-subscribers?? |

And now I won't do either so they get nothing from me. Whereas if they would let me I would give them $350 to watch the Redskins on my PS3. |

Uh that's the whole point of Directv putting the Ticket on the PS3, so non DTV subscribers can get the Ticket through their PS3. You don't have to sign up for DTV to get it on the PS3. |

Why do you think I'm pissed you two dipshits. I called and they said I must switch to direct tv to be able to get sunday ticket through my ps3. It's only if satilitte tv is impossible where you live that you can get just sunday ticket. |

No need for the name calling. You should have been more clear from the start |

You're right you're right. I don't understand why you don't want to switch to Directv though. It's not that hard to get a good deal from them, as they are willing to give discounts almost all the time. And if you switch to DTV this year you'll get the Ticket for free. So if you want to sit here and complain about how you don't want to switch to DTV for some stupid reason but you still want the Sunday Ticket than be my guest. |

Could have just explained that before and avoided all this dumb drama. |
Re: Sunday Ticket and PS3
This is awesome. I recently tried to get Direct TV - but they told me that all the uber tall pine trees that are prevalent where I live is not allowing me to get a clear signal. That poor installer was there for about 4 hours trying to get it to work.
So I sadly had to accept the harsh reality that I'll have to get my Redskins fix at the local sports bar (uber-expensive) or watch little tid-bits on the RedZone. The computer streams are to unreliable to truly enjoy the game. This is definitely a early Christmas present for me. |
Re: Sunday Ticket and PS3
Previously in this thread I argued against getting Sunday Ticket because of its short-term and long-term expense. I have since changed my mind. Perhaps my reasons (and my math) will be helpful to some folks.
1) by switching to Directv you get one year of Sunday Ticket for free. 2011 covered. 2) I was paying Dish Network about $80 a month. Because of introductory rates, I get a similar package from Directv for $40 a month for a year. $40 a month savings x 12 months =$480. Sunday Ticket is thus covered for the 2012 season with about $140 to spare. 3) Given previous savings, plus $10/month free HD savings by having autopay for 2 years, the third year of Sunday Ticket is covered. So I get Sunday Ticket through 2013 for close to free (see notes) compared to what I was previously paying. In 2014 I'll just figure it out. In 2015 there should be a new deal which hopefully allows a similar package for cheaper. Notes: 1) You can get the same free HD deal on Dish Network but I previously did not take advantage because I always felt that "next year" would be the year that I would switch. 2) Because I live in a hurricane zone where Directv requires a special roof install, and because I have a slate roof which will not allow a dish, I had to pay $85 extra for a special installation which Dish Network does not require. In the end I still get Sunday Ticket for 3 years for about $40. I can deal with that. |
