I'm thinking most explosive offensive next season, but then again.... he'll be a rookie.
Nothing outlandish at all. Get back to me in 2 more years:
They aren't even close to being the same level when it comes to the secondary aspects (intellect, poise, accuracy)

How can the above statement be seen as anything other then outlandish? Especially in light of Cam's rookie season and the fact that the player you are comparing to is a prospect (i.e. not even in the league yet).
Not even remotely close. I don't even need to cover the intelligence part, and poise isn't talking about how he can handle the media and scrutiny. I'm referring to "poise in the pocket". Cam is much more likely to take off running than RGIII is. Yes, I live in NC and I'm forced to watch Panther games.
Yeah, I agree that you shouldn't cover the intelligence part because it nonsense to think you can measure Cam's intelligence and everything about Cam's success at Blinn, Auburn and in the NFL (with no off season) suggest that Cam at a minimum has great football intelligence. You need to distinguish between called/designed runs vs. impromptu runs. If you take away the Panthers designed QB runs Cam rarely takes off running without a good reason and when he does he's pretty much gonna get convert for a 1st down (which extends the drive). Cam and Griffin are very much alike in the fact that many people wrongly consider them run first QBs.
He is as a prospect. If Cam Newtown came out this year, he would be the #3 QB chosen in this draft (if not #4). As a prospect, RGIII is way ahead of Cam at his same point in time prior to the draft. I'm not saying he's going to put up better numbers his first year.
Maybe in the eyes of the same media that tried to convince you last year that Gabbert was as good if not a better QB prospect then Newton. But, it seems patently obvious that the sports media evaluation of Cam Newton was wrong. Cam was drafted No.1 and Cam had one of the best rookie season by a QB ever. If Cam came out this year I would have him as the #1 QB prospect, Griffin #2 and Luck #3. If you think Griffin is way ahead of Newton then why don't you expect similar production? |

I do not make our OL out be a 'crap fest' The Panthers having a better OL then us isn't the same as saying our OL is crap. |
Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
Our line isn't horrible by any means but Carolina has one of the best in the NFL.

Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
Griffin has the potential to have a very good season provided we can protect him.
Kyle's has been fairly consistent with his playcalling balance its been steady around 60 pass/40 run. I don't think Griffin will make Kyle become a more balanced. I actually don't think the offense will change that much. But, Griffin superior skillset and playmaking ability will help make this offense more explosive. |

Our depth has been our main Achilles. (even though I agree the Panthers OL is better than ours) |
Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
I will say this about Cam. It's completely possible that he'll have a sophomore slump and that his rookie year was a flash in the pan. That said I doubt thats the case. He was way to productive with such a poor supporting cast for me to think that the chance of a true sophomore slump is greater then 2%. True meaning a complete 180 from the player we saw last year.
Now if he's on the cover of Madden thats a different story but I think thats more of an injury waiting to happen than a significant decrease in production. |
