Sometimes, it's instructive to take a look around you. The Redskins are at their lowest on-field point in 20 years. Probably 40. Once you arrive at that conclusion, you can move forward without fear that Snyder might screw up the next hire.
Starting from scratch is, and I mean this, a better position than the next coach will actually be starting from.
Does that mean you think we are worse off now than we were 4 years ago? That is a very depressing thought. Personally I feel we have some pieces in place to suceed again in a few years. |
Re: Boyz vs. Skins Post-Game Dread
I think with the right coach and a couple key pieces, a FS, a RT, CB, a number 2 receiver and a MLB, we could win the east next season if RG3 gets back in form. We are not so far gone that everything must be scrapped. A couple solid free agent signings, a hit on one or two of our draft picks, and BAM, we are right there. If we can get two starters out of this next draft, WONDERFUL. If Philip Thomas comes back and slides in as a starter and does a solid job, WONDERFUL. If we actually get a competent RT, WONDERFUL.
All of these things I believe are very doable, and could all happen THIS offseason. But I do think new blood is needed for the HC, OC, DC, and secondary and special teams coaches. Thats alot of new coaches, but we have the talent here to make it an easy transition for the right guy. This team is close. |
I think letting this crap Cowboys team beat you with it's worst defense in nfl history and a gajillion injuries qb'd by the master of the choke qualifies as a true low point.

Re: Boyz vs. Skins Post-Game Dread
Anyone have any news on Rak's injury?
What a truly great and utter disaster today was. 4 & 12 and we give up the TD after three masterful stops. All you have to do is cover Murray and we win... Pathetic... We will have high picks in rounds 2-7.. |

An early two would be more likely because the losers draft first. That is, unless a losing team has a pair of second round picks. What's the high/low on a draft pick for Cousins, anyway? Late first/early third? Would the Skins even accept a third for him? After all, there is no compelling reason to let him go cheap. I'd like to get a pick and a player for him. |
Re: Boyz vs. Skins Post-Game Dread
I say we end up getting another second rounder for him
|
Re: Boyz vs. Skins Post-Game Dread
After today if we get offered a 2 let him go and draft another mid draft guy.
Well at least the last two games have been competitive from start to finish. They've been fun to watch. Sucks that Fletch couldn't leave with a win.
Haslett is garbage. You've got Romo with a leg injury and you simply have to get after his ass at the end of the game. He sat back there and could have wiped his ass he had so much time.
I've never seen a team play a prevent defense from the 11 yard line until today. Haslett, you're 3-11, call a blitz, make him throw it quickly or chuck it into the end zone. But nah, lets give him 13 seconds in the pocket, cause we have lock down defenders. Even if we did, it's hard to cover forever. But hey, you don't get to 3-11 (3-12 now) on accident. |

I really dont think that we are that far off, right side O-line, line backers, secondary group, and COACHING!! There will be a lot of free agents that fit all of these needs....... Let us hope that whoever the next coach is they will find a way to get the most out of this team. |
Re: Boyz vs. Skins Post-Game Dread
As much as I'd like to comment on this game I cant because I watched the first few minutes then went to the movies to see American Hustle.

It's still too early to tell how good Cousins can be. QB depth isn't the worst thing to have. |
