luv it...on the message boards every now and then someone will post a reminder that Andy Reid just clinched a playoff birth reeling off 9 straight wins with an "inferior" team (of course).
Funny thing is if anyone would have given the Skins what they want for RGIII it would have been Chip Kelly. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
Nope , it's already kinda out there that the coaching tree is safe unless he choose's to retire but the Team likes everyone and Mcadoo and Spags have a strong bond.If one gets the head job the other could very well stay the one in danger is Jerry Reese .Had the Giants been able to just make a stop on any of the last drives of the eight loss's say , Carolina , Cowboys ,Patriots you know what would be happening .Fact they didn't the Skins are the Champs of the east and that is the fact.Giants need a Defense and a tight end their salary cap is very good ,look to see them active in FA .
Giants are definitely the team most likely to get things going in the right direction, along with the Redskins. They need to shore up the defensive side of the ball. It won't take all that much to make enough of an improvement on defense to support Eli and OBJ. They will do plenty of scoring. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
Is it unfair to say Chip Kelly was basically Spurrier with a better set of "toys" in the toy box until he started casting them off? Kelly succeeded early because of the personnel on his team, if D-Jax, Maclin, & McCoy were still on the Eagles? Who knows.
Also, a stat I didn't know about until today is that their defense has been on the field more than any other defense over the past 3 seasons. That high pace on offense will backfire if you aren't scoring as quick as you are running plays. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
Kinda hard to fire a guy who has won 2 rings

That's why I've been saying forced retirement or hit the highway if he refuses. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
Also on ESPN Radio this morning they said some former Eagles were sitting in the press box and explaining how simply that offense is by calling out plays merely based on formations.

He could very well chose to retire and in that case Mcadoo and Spaggs would both be in contention as would Josh McDaniels all I'm saying is that he won't be fired and the two coordinators could stay with no problem. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
Coughlin is on a one year deal anyway so he technically won't be fired.
now some idiot espn sportscaster is trying to paint the rosey picture of how great the eagles coach job could be..actually talked about how the redskins might not be able to keep cousins and how bad the rest of the nfc east could be and the right coach could come into philly and they dominate…REALLY???? Wish in one hand and crap in the other and tell me which one fills up first!!!!
He is an idiot if he's never heard of the Franchise Tag. Which of their idiots was it, if you can recall? |

I heard the same thing this morning. It was one of the guests on first take. They had three guests today and I think his name is Ohm Youngmisuk. It was a brutal show of ignorance amongst 4 homers. |
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
It was First take..I was actually on this site reading when I heard the guy on the TV saying something about Cousins and the skins not being able to keep him??
|
Re: Chip Kelly Fired
that show is literally only relevant because people constantly talk about all the stupid things they say there. no one's been fired, so i can only assume that it's purposeful.

Also, as it relates to Kelly's personnel acumen, which had come under scrutiny, Belichick added, "I'd say a lot of the players that were on the Eagles, that are no longer on the Eagles, aren't really doing too much for anybody else either." Oh really? |

Oh really?
I think it's funny that this is the second coach, connected to Belichick, who has been fired for basically taking over a team and running it into the ground (the other is Josh McDaniel). It is my opinion that these coaches have been trying to in some way emulate what Belichick has done in terms of player personnel. However, both Kelly and McDaniel do not have Tom Brady or Belichick's ability to coach up any player. Belichick has been notorious for getting rid of talented players that don't fit his culture. But his coaching abilities and Tom Brady have always allow them to prevail. He also has his Super Bowl rings, which basically give him a free pass (rightfully so) to do whatever he wants. Chip Kelly has royally f*cked up in Philly, and I really doubt any team would give him a chance after what he has done with the Eagles. While McDaniel has been considered a head coaching candidate, he has yet to find a job as a head coach after his blunder in Denver. The only way I can see Kelly coaching in the NFL, is if he goes to a team with a strong GM. |
