If I had to name the biggest disappointment on the roster, Preston Smith is the clear winner. He's been terrible folks.

Lotta love for McC, but

1. Preston Smith

2. Matt Jones

3. Breeland

huge disappointments folks. period. Bree and Jones actually could be gone next year. Yes, they could be gone.
I will hold off on adding Fuller to the list, though I did not like the pick than and he has shown very little this year. He is a rook though so maybe. I will also say anything after round 4 it seems like he is just throwing darts.
He has some gems too like Crowder though.
As we've seen with the emergence of Murphy this year it's way too early to give up hope on guys like Smith and Breeland.
Preston isn't going anywhere...like I said last week, Hatcher had a big impact playing next to Preston. He was a force that allowed Preston to thrive. Now playing next to him is Ziggy Hood, Ricky Jean. Not the same impact folks.

I agree Charlie Casserly that Fuller is a boundry corner and not a slot guy. He never played that technique with the Hookies. Certainly has shown this year. So I think they will give Fuller the opportunity for the outside job next year across from Norman. Bree doesn't have a ton behind him and should be safe, but a lot of things could happen in the offseason and a decision to move from him if he doesn't show in the preseason certainly wouldn't be a shock after this season.

Fat Rob and Chris Thompson have been great this year. But I think we will be in the RB market again this offseason.

Smith lacks quickness and foot speed. That isn't going to change; therefore, he does not belong at the OLB position. He needs to gain 30 pounds so they can try him at DE. If he doesn't make it at DE, then...

Breeland has the physical talent to play in the NFL but he still has a lot of learning to do.

You can never have enough backs but with Rob and CT I think we're looking pretty good.

Pretty sure McC did not draft Breeland. But of those 3, Breeland has the most potential. We've seen him play extremely well. I would keep him around. We could probably sign him fairly cheap after this season.

CT and Trent Murphy, I think we should take a look at possible extensions for both. Probably affordable prices for pivotal role players

Good idea! I think they both would have suitors on the FA market.

Of 17 picks (fat rob and undrafted guys aside - not that they do not count, but I can not recall them) we have three definite long term keepers. Scherff, Crowder, Cravens. Spaight could be a solid ST guy and maybe make a splash in the rotation. Koujo could be good depth and an eventual starter. Overall I cannot look at these 17 picks right now and think wow Scot nailed it. It is super early though. In two years we will know for sure.
Smith Jones at two and three is looking just God awful. Doctson is the big "maybe". I know a lot of people like the Ioannidis pick. I do not.

I'm not ready to give up on Matt Jones. I realize that it may be over for him here but other RB's have fixed their fumbling problems. I'm pretty sure he gets the point about holding onto the ball by now. I hope he gets one more chance to contribute at some point, even if it is next season.

He is an effort guy who can also catch the ball. We all know he is tough to tackle. If he could just learn how to run lower and protect the ball...

CT is the unsung hero. At least once or twice every game he makes a clutch run or catch and run. Dude has a motor. I think he is our change of pace/third down back for years to come.

There is never a good time to fumble but man it seems like he coughs it up at the worst times. I really could care less if he ever gets another shot. I think between Fat Rob and CT we have 2 of the three. I am hoping that we draft a gem or pick one up in FA to go along with them. Maybe even be thee guy. In that case Jones is done in Washington for sure.

He's on the bench for a good reason but I don't see any downside to bringing him back to training camp next season. If he works his tail off and fixes his fumbling problem, he could help the team. Honestly, I just hate to see a good young man with talent fail.
