Trey Burton could be a good TE pickup
Trey Burton is Reed Light. Granted, Burton would probably be on the field much more often than Reed. OK, go ahead and sign Burton if you must but, if you do, trade Reed. Seriously, could we please just forget about TE receiving stats and sign a blocking TE? We need a blocking TE to help get our running game going. Jay Gruden is going to run the ball on every first down and everyone in the league knows that so there's no need to have a receiving threat TE in the game on that down. We need the blocking instead. |

Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
No we need TEs that can do both. We don’t want a personnel package on the field that broadcasts our intention to either run or pass.

Maybe Sprinkle can develop into that guy? |
Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
He’s one of many guys I’m excited to get a look at in year two of their careers. It can be such a difference from year one to year two in terms of development.
Sprinkle, Roullier, Montae, Moreau, and good Lord Jonathan Allen. Could turn out to be a hell of a draft class if they step forward the way Ioannidis and Fuller did. |

If this team's healthy, these guys deliver, and we have a decent off season, we'll have reasons to be excited! Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |

Dude is the best blocking TE we have. If he can get stronger and more polished on his route running, he could make defenses play us honest and potentially have a huge impact. I have to say, I've been really disappointed in VD. That dude is so strong, so athletic, so fast. There is no excuse for how poorly he blocks week to week. |

We haven't had a TE who can do both in decades, so what makes you think the Skins will all of the sudden find one? Besides, the opponent's defense almost always loads up vs.the Skins on 1st down and our genius HC calls a running play into the teeth of the D. So, we might as well have a role player at TE who can block. |

Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
Per JLC
NFL's top 10 $ spenders in '17: DET, CAR, GB, JAX, MIA, CHI, CLE, SF, ATL, WSH Only 3 teams made playoffs. Only JAX won more than 1 PS game How did we spend that much??? I don't buy that shit. Pryor was cheap, DJ cost 4M and Kirk 24M. Brown maybe 5M? |

Or most money committed to new acquisitions in 2017? |

That's what I'm trying to figure out, this was all he posted. How would we have spent top 10 $ last yr? It can't be with Free agency because we didn't spend that much so I'd imagine KC took most of that. |
Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
Can you link to his post please? I will look and try to determine based on his source.
He probably means highest payroll, not just biggest offseason spending. Remember, we had to sign a shitload of guys off the street just to make it through all the injuries. |

Lions (122% of cap) were highest cash spenders" |
Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
If you go to Overthecap.com, look at the Cash Spending, then sort by Total Cash spending column, You get JLC's list of teams, EXCEPT, the Eagles are in the top 10, and 49er's arent. The active cash spending gives a different list of teams.
