Re: NFL Conference Championship Weekend
Surprised they didn't run a replay to show if AR had an open lane to the end zone or not. Sure seemed like he did on the 3rd down play.

I don't know if he would have scored. Would have definitely got inside of the 5 somewhere, with a chance to score if he made a move/guy miss. |

I was thinking that too, there was nobody directly in front of him. He might not have made the end zone but he would've gotten damn close. |

Yeah but he woulda at least gotten to the 2 yard Line...the view from behind Rodgers, he had a 50/50 def to score. If you don’t score, then u go for it no question |

He decided 5 years ago that he will retire when one of his offensive linemen gets called for holding. He's still playing. |

:funnypost But I have to be honest, the officiating in the playoffs in particular has been woeful, or at least very inconsistent. Both sides got away with some clear holding and PI calls, then after all those 'we'll let it slide' moments they call PI on the Packers to end the game. It was PI, no doubt, but if you are going to call that, you have to call all the other's you didn't or not call that one. |

Matt LaFleur is garbage. No balls.

It was the right call if you think it through. |

Are you trying to rub people the wrong way? Get to 100 posts before insulting people's intelligence. |

I didn’t mean it to be insulting, just saying look at it again instead of listening to the sports shows trying to drum up controversy. But if you look at it, the Pack had to score twice...a TD and the two point conversion to tie. All he did was do the two point conversion score as a FG and then rely on his defense to stop Brady....which they would have had to do anyway if they didn’t score on the fourth down. At least with the field goal it was a one score game not two. |
Re: NFL Conference Championship Weekend
The counter argument is twofold. They had to score a TD at least once (arguably twice if you count the 2 pointer). The FG mean that they a) had to get the ball back quickly to leave time on the clock and b) have halfway decent field position to be able to get that TD in the time available.
Go for it on 4th and fail? TB are stuck inside their own 10 and unlikely to take chances passing for a 1st down. If GB stop them there, then they likely get the ball back in very good field position. And if they don't stop them then it's a moot point anyway. We know how it went after the FG anyway, but even had they stopped them getting the 1st down, they'd have been getting the ball back likely inside their own 20 with less than 1 min. to cover that distance. You've got Aaron Rodgers and Devontae Adams on the field. Of course you go on 4th down. Unless you don't trust your HOF worthy QB... |

I mean they weren’t close to scoring on any of the plays inside the ten on that drive. The Bucs D was really shutting all the passing lanes down in that sequence. I think Aaron could have scored on the third down play honestly or been pretty close. I just don’t see it as so open and shut as a lot of people do. And that’s fine. Just think saying “LaFleur is an idiot with no balls” is a little short sighted too. There is logic behind what he did. You may not agree with it, but it’s not “dumb” just because.... |
Re: NFL Conference Championship Weekend
Kicking a FG makes more sense if there was 4 or 5 minutes left. Giving the ball back to TB with just a little over 2 minutes left doesn't give you much of a chance.

But you were doing that if you didn’t convert on fourth down as well. At least this way you just needed a TD to win, not a TD and a 2 pointer to tie. And since Brady was on the other side it probably didn’t matter anyway. |

it was a stupid call. you have one of the best qb's ever and davonte adams. you give him a 4th down. end of discussion. also the hc deserves blame for the end of the half td. inexcusable to leave a db in one on one coverage w/ seconds left in the half. epic failure and that falls on the hc. As i said, LaFleur is garbage. |
