Agreed. The gap between good scotch and shit scotch is much wider than with bourbons. I'm sipping a little Glenlivet and getting caught up on the last few weeks of Lost. |
But see, serious in what sense? I've had them all... from what is considered "high class" to Beam. Overall, I just appreciate JD more than any of them. Maybe I'm just an unsophisticated redneck, but that's kind of how I feel about wine as well. There's only a few I really like....

3 bottles of MD would kill my stomach before anything else.
all kidding aside, i'm 36 and have not vomited since i was 18. that last time i threw up was from drinking two bottles of md 20/20, it was either grape or orange(can't remember). that was one of the worst nights of my life, the entire room started spinning and nothing would stop it, then.....:vomit:. i didn't start to feel better until late the next evening. |
Re: The 10 Commandments For Drinking Like A Man
Screw all that. The best thing you can drink in my opinion, is shine with apple juice and a cinnamon stick. Let it sit for a few years and pow, it will knock you on your ass. You wouldn't even taste the alcohol and the apple juice takes away the burning. 25$ a big mason jar all day long.

drank shine in HS quite a bit
my dealer's dealer was an English teacher that shared a mutual dislike for each other with me's husband.. so I managed to hold it over her head and pretty much stayed out of trouble |

Bumping an old thread, but I'm trying to improve my scotch/whiskey/bourbon (primarily scotch) stock.
So...what should I always have stocked in my bar...and how should I drink it? |

Lagavulin is a classy choice for a home bar ... although my favorite has always been Laphroaig. It's the IPA of malts.
