I was sure his Tib/Fib was broken and he was out for the season. Then yesterday I read early that he would only be out 6-8 weeks, I was shocked. |

Eli just got his forehead split open.. wonder what they'll do about helmet.. liquid skin instead of stitches? Sit him till stitches are out?

Rumored that TC15 could be heading to chi-town after Hanie's injury

I'm betting stitches, and a thin covering to protect it. Then just not put as much air in that part of his helmet or use thinner foam to reduce pressure there. |

Well Trent Green, Damon Huard, and Todd Collins have all said no to the Bears now. |

If he has to learn a new offense...not a great signing for them. I really don't think he has the physical skills left to be a good backup QB. He only did well for us because he could run that system with his eyes closed after being in it for a decade. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Didn't see anyone mention it here, Larry Fitzgerald is out for the preseason with a sprained MCL, expected to be back for week 1.

ESPN is reporting that Collins turned down Chicagos offer. |

Both Saunders and Martz are Air Coryell folks, so it should be quicker for him. Doesn't matter now. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Donovan should take notice of Eli's head injury and start buckling his chin strap on every play.

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Add Asante Samuel to the long list of injured Eagles secodary:
As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to say goodbye to Lehigh University for the summer, cornerback Asante Samuel will apparently be sidelined with what the team is calling a hamstring injury. Samuel left practice early Tuesday and only said to reporters, "I'm getting too old for this."
|
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
"I'm getting too old for this."
Nice. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
He will be fine once he heals up. I would not be to worried if I was an Iggles fan.

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
I would be worried, but not about Samuel. :D

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
I feel bad for Stafon Johnson, app. he sprained his ankle and broke his leg, and the Titans just released him. I wonder why they didn't just put him on IR and let him rehab that stuff, it just seems like a dick move to let him go even though they know he's done for the year.

'Cause the Titans are a bunch of cold-hearted punk-bitches is why! I heard they tripped him on his way out the door... Titans will pick him back up if he clears waivers and place him on IR. They had to waive him first so he doesn't count against their roster limit |

Cowboys OG kosier out 4-6 weeks with sprained knee! Looks like the skins will play a dallass team without 2 starters on the oline

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Damn, the Cowgirls are dropping like flies. Though they are a hated rival, you hate to see this in the preseason.

Looks like rumors about the impending death of the Cowpokes O-line might not be exaggerated.
Hmm, a team with an old O-line with no depth because of spending no draft picks on the offensive line...where have I heard that before? |

Kosier will miss week one. Columbo will be back in 10 days and will play week one.

They had to waive him first so he doesn't count against their roster limit
 They couldn't trip him, he's probably in a wheelchair, what with a broken leg and a sprained ankle. They probably unscrewed one of the wheels on it instead to teach him a lesson, that people who have dumbbells fall on their neck and almost sever their head should just learn when to quit. Seriously though good call on that one, I didn't think about them picking him back up once he clears waivers to put him on IR so he doesn't count on the roster limit. |

He's out 4-6. If you're saying he'll only miss week one, then I'm saying that's way optimistic. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Not sure that it's notable, other than to GMScud, but Tebow is believed to have bruised ribs and left practice today clutching them. No official word that I've seen.

For now.... Don't count your eggs before they hatch. To all the others laughing at the coygirls wounds... let's wait till we are through with 3 more meaningless games of our own before we laugh at another's misfortune. The week before week one we can make jokes and like our chances because of the Injury Report on the Cowboys. **BTW I think we whould win against the Boys in week one at FedEx with the 'Girls at full strength given we are the same.** |

Hurt them during the Bengals game, will probably only miss this weekend's game if that. Now I wait for someone to make a joke about Tebow using his rib to make a wife |

Columbo is supposed to return to practice in 10-12 days. But for certain and undoubtedly he will be ready by week 1. I am more concerned by the loss of Kosier, it is pretty certain he won't be playing in the opener. In 2008 the offense really suffered when Kosier was out for the year. Most underated linemen on that roster IMO. |

I was being matter-of-fact. Their offensive line is mostly old and lacking in depth. I predict that injuries on the offensive front derail their Super Bowl dreams. In this light, what is happening to Colombo and Kosier is just the beginning. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Kelly's last chance
10:30 AM ET Malcolm Kelly | Redskins TopEmail The Washington Redskins have been less than impressed with their pair of 2009 second-round wide receivers, Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly, based on their production so far. During training camp, however, Thomas has flashed enough improvement to seemingly secure his spot on the roster for 2010. Kelly, however, has been battling injuries all camp, and Jason Reid of the Washington Post writes that he'll need to get on the field and impress coach Mike Shanahan in order to make the team's 53-man roster. Redskins' receivers coach Keenan McCardell said the following about Kelly's roster chances: "He's more than talented enough to be one of the 53," McCardell said. "He wouldn't have been a second-round pick if he didn't have that type of talent. You don't pass that type of talent in the draft. I just hope he comes back healthy soon and ready to go." The Redskins could certainly use a healthy, productive Kelly to bolster their receiving corps, but the second-year pro might be running out of time to earn Shanahan's approval. The fact that electrifying rookie Brandon Banks is doing well as a kick returner this preseason could be hurting Kelly's roster chances. |
