I sincerely hope this is the last Haynesworth thread. I'm both sick and tired of talking about this guy.
Good luck with that. Not long ago I saw a Jason Campbell thread. I'm telling you, some fans are like obsessive girlfriends, they just won't let go.

This has disaster written all over it. He's just not the type of guy for the New England culture. But I guess they said that about Randy Moss and a few others. Should be interesting.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I keep repeating this, but the Patriots are not playing the 3-4 that much and last season they play a significant amount of 4-3. They've been losing their 3-4 personnel. Darth Hoody is a guru at defensive scheming and has the tendency to adjusting his scheme to player's strengths. AH aside, I wouldn't be surprise if this season they go completely 4-3.

I would be curious to know if there was a better offer from the Eagles, if there was an offer at all.
I honestly don't know if there ever was an offer for AH, but some here and some (so I thought) rumors were, he would be worth about a 4th or 5th round draft pick. Now the Eagles knew MS was not going to trade with them, so what was to stop them from making a deal with the Patriots for a 4th round draft pick. The Patriots play along as long as they can get less then a 4th for AH.

I'll agree it's silly, AH should be happy he was traded to an every year contender. But... I was just asking. I would have prefered we trade him to the Eagles for the 4th vs. to the Patriots for a 5th only to have him end up with the Eagles anyway.

MTK 07-29-2011 02:41 PM

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.

I doubt BB is going to trade him only to gain a 4th in return, after they just gave up a 5th.

I think for the small price they paid they are willing to roll the dice and see what they have in him. It's a low risk/high reward situation.

SBXVII 07-29-2011 02:43 PM

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.

Ok, maybe those of you who don't want to hear or see anything more about AH should avoid this thread then. right? Someone else started it. All I did was ask a question. Trust me I'm estatic he's gone.
A well organized, well coached winning team can do wonders sometimes for disenchanted players. It will only take a minute for AH to realize he won't become a distraction in NE the way he did here. + He won't be asked to play the NT position, they have one of the best in the business already.
Vinny Cerrato says he’d sign Haynesworth again
By Dan Steinberg

I think maybe we can all agree that Albert Haynesworth’s tenure in Washington wasn’t the most successful Washington tenure in the history of Washington tenures. Like, William Henry Harrison probably had a more successful Washington tenure. Sharon Pratt Kelly had a way more successful Washington tenure. Mike Bibby and Žydrūnas Ilgauskas had more successful Washington tenures.

So, while it might be hard to admit, if you were one of the guys who helped bring Haynesworth to Washington, maybe you could come out and say that it was a mistake, one that would not be repeated.

Or not.

“What I want to know is after all that's gone down in Washington, if Cerrato has buyer’s remorse,” CBS Sports’s Clark Judge wrote this week.

“You know what I mean. After the body blows he absorbed ... and continues to absorb ... for signing Haynesworth, would he sign him again if the situation were the same?

Cerrato didn’t flinch.

‘If the Redskins were still playing a 4-3 I would,’ he said. ‘Under the circumstances, it made sense. But if I was running a strict 3-4, absolutely not.’ ”

Cerrato also said that the Redskins’ defensive struggles “changed when Albert was there,” and that “in his first year, he did what he was supposed to do.”

So I guess in a calm and sober analysis of the facts, maybe you do have to admit that hahahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahahah ahahahahahaha hold me someone hold me ahahahahahahahahahahaha.

All I can say about that is that anytime I feel bad about the direction this franchise is going, I just go and dig up some Vinny quotes and remind myself of the dark ages. I don't understand how anyone could respect him as a legitimate front office authority. It boggles the mind. I read a post he wrote on ESPN the other day about how to operate when free agency opens and couldn't help but think, who would take this seriously? He is literally one of a very select few company whose opinions on how to run a franchise should be worthless. It's comparable to having Matt Millen write an authoritative piece about how to use your first round pick 4 years in a row.

Mel Kiper. Don't get me wrong I love Mel but somehow Vinny the Snake has found a way to befriend one of the nicest guys at the ESPEN. Either way it's all about who you know and Vinny knows Mel, and Mack Brown for that matter.

I wonder if he spent the offseason eating himself out of playing shape just to spite Shanny?

Either way, all I can truly say about this I'm so glad he's not our problem anymore.

Again for the people that were posting Albert is suddenly motivated, my question is for what and why? His ultimate in your face moment should have been when he left Tennessee and came to Washington. That was his moment to prove the naysayers wrong and help right the ship here in D.C.

It wouldn't shock me if he didn't finish the season with New England.

Not Rich Ohrnberger!? The offensive lineman who has been one of the most consistent All-Pro's of all time?

If he's tearing it up for the Pats, good for him. He's one of the rare few players' in this league that I hope whose career will go downhill faster than Britney Spears'. He doesn't deserve any respect, let alone the opportunity to start. Luckily Father Belichick's Home for Wayward Youths (credit for that goes to one of the writers on ESPN) exists to take in reclamation projects like him. I hope he blows all his money on strippers and lawsuits, and gets dumped by the Pats and every team that will sign him due to him being a fat lazy prick.
