I know I said this show was a bit Shakespearean, but I didn't think Sutter would friggin' end the season Hamlet-style. Dude, deviate a bit!
Hey, Tara, wtf were you ever thinking A hole? You're a frigging surgeon. What are you doing dating a biker barely making the ends meet in the middle of the dessert you dumb shit? Move to a city, marry medical device sales rep and make a combined income of 600 grand a year with zero chance of ever getting beheaded by Mexican gangsters or life in jail.
And Jax, move away with your doctor wife you idiot. Let her make triple what you make peddling guns and not getting murdered. Literally sit on your ass for the next 50 years eating Doritos and getting free health benefits from her awesome job. SHE'S A SURGEON! Why is this a tough decision. I'm done with this stupid ass show. Transformers was more realistic.
Last time she moved out of Charming and went on with her life, she ended up dating some psychotic rapist. Suppose after that she decided to stick with what she knew. :P |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
I guess sutter finally wrote himself off the show now.
He'll be there... Just without a tongue. That scene along with burning Tig's daughter alive are things I never want to see again. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Oh and lastly. Jax setup Tara.
Feels like Jax may get killed off at the series finale next season. Wouldn't that be a pip? Club killed him just like his old man. |

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Bump.
New season starts tomorrow with Jax going crazy and Tara locked up. Oooooo. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Hells yeah looking forward to it.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I'm tempted to watch season 6 tonight even though I still haven't seen season 5. Too cheap to pay for it on iTunes. Hopefully Redbox will release season 5 ASAP for me to blitz through and actually get caught up.

I'd wait. A lot of shit goes down in season 5. It should be up on Netflix pretty soon. |

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Fought off the temptation. Guess I won't be hanging around the water cooler for a while...

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I totally stopped watching this when they kidnapped Jax's son. Maybe I need to re-pick it up.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I'm going to try and be spoiler free:
I'm really not feeling good about them using last nights plot point to incorporate them getting in trouble again this year. I'm sure they could have done it some other way. Also really tired of them going back and forth on me being able to root for Jax with all his adultery shit. Seriously feeling like the only characters I have left to pull for is Chibs and Bobby. |

Overall I thought the episode was pretty meh for an opener. I find it hard to feel for any of the characters anymore. I kinda understand the adultery lean, there's only so much you can push a man away before he starts getting the wandering eye, but damn, you know? Jax talks about family first and all this other mumbo jumbo and then beds the first bimbo who talks sweet to him. I keep thinking about how this show is supposed to end. Everyone's going to have either quit or got themselves killed. Everything is so fractured at this point I don't see how an ending is even going to make sense. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
My view is it's a TV show, don't like it don't watch. SOA has never shied away from pushing things over the line.
I think it's an interesting twist myself. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Haven't watched the season opener yet, so thanks for keeping this topic spoiler free. Definitely going to watch tonight, honestly not sure what to expect based off the previews I've seen.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
That was an okay season opener, but definitely not as good as the ones in seasons' past. I can't wait to see how Donal Logue's character ends up crashing and burning the way all the other thorns' in Samcro's sides have ended in past seasons. Other than that was anything that happened particularly surprising? For me not really, but we know what to expect by now.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Sutter has wanted to do this angle for a while but never had it worked out to fit until now. It's his take on tackling head-on the propensity for TV shows to ignore the real affects of what these guys do as a whole versus just the affects on them and their families. Same situation as Breaking Bad. Very little exposition focuses on how WW's meth affects the community. Its all focused on his life and his environment.
I thought Sutter's mechnaism for delving into it was a little over the top but that's what SOA is about. All thse crazy situations of a life-style none of us can really relate to and how these somewhat everyday type of people have adapted or are adapting to it. Plus it sets up how the show ends I believe is what eh has said. |

Sure a school shooting is over the top, but hey, it's TV. I guess some people would rather sweep issues like this under the rug and pretend they don't exist. On a side note can someone please put Otto out of his misery already. It's getting ridiculous what this guy has gone through. |

Sons live, Redwood bleeds.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Most uplifting. Yikes!

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Forgot to bump this after last night's episode.
I know the first episode is all about setting up the season but I think last night's episode actually brought some meat, so to speak. Little action, little murder. It was good. The end of the episode really made me think that Tara and Jax are emotionally splintering, or at least Tara is. Heavy stuff. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Yeah I'd say they're on the rocks alright, Tara was talking divorce with that attorney.

Huh. I missed that part. Wonder if as the season continues, Tara is going to give Jax an ultimatum; me or the club. Seems to be building towards that. |

Yeah towards the end when she met with the attorney at her place the attorney mentioned filing for divorce before the trial. Page 4 of this recap. Sons of Anarchy recap: The Edge of Doom | Season 6 Episode 02 | EW.com |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
I definitely see either an ultimatum coming, or Tara taking the kids and running. Legally that would be kidnapping since 1 of her sons isn't actually hers, but it's safe to say with Jax's infidelity and Tara's issues with the club their relationship isn't good right now. But who knows what will go down, Kurt Sutter loves to pull a good misdirection.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
I'm not convinced that all we're seeing is on the up and up. Remember that Sutter has written all these characters as pretty big-time schemers. I'd bet that all is not as it seems with the divorce talk and so forth.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
^ true, you never know with this show, things are rarely as they seem, gotta wait and see how things play out.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Do you guys know if next season is the last season of SOA?
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
7 seasons is what Sutter wants to do.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Loved that Otto took down Toric. And finally Otto got put out of his misery.
|
Re: Sons of Anarchy
I liked the fact that Robocop and T-1000 were in last night's episode.

That was an audible. Toric was supposed to run the whole season but Donal Logue got over committed and had to drop out. |

I see he's going to be on the 2nd season of Vikings. His demise on SOA did seem sudden. |

Totally didn't see that happening this soon, but yeah it was good to see Otto finally get put out to pasture. Sucked what happened to Phil though. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
best episode so far this season i think. the PI was starting to get annoying (just like the IA guy in the shield).

Yeah that was a bummer, he was a good dude. I thought Tig was done. I could see Juice going down by the end of this season. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
Agreed on the good episode bit. We all knew Otto's storyline was wrapping up, as soon as Donal Logue killed that escort I felt like he wouldn't be sticking around that much longer, I'm just glad that Otto got to take him out before he got taken out. I guess this makes the club v. IRA the biggest battle on the docket now. I feel like by the time it ends, it's going to be a lot bloodier and we could possibly see some SOA table members sitting in some caskets. But then again, with the show nothing is as it seems.
Definitely will be more interesting though, I felt like the start of the season was pretty lukewarm and then things just really picked up in the last episode. |
Re: Sons of Anarchy
I know the show is coming to an end so character deaths are inevitable, but part of me thinks how the hell can you continue a motorcycle club with like 5 members? And the loss of characters and their differing views causes the show to lose something. There's no more Opie to be that man on fire about doing the right thing (besides Jax).
I still love it but all the character deaths are making the show thin on characters. |
