I think we could get away with reciever in the first round and quarter back early second. All depends on who comes out and teams deciding they need to draft a qb. Teams who need a qb of the top of my head:
Cleveland Miami Washington anyone else?
Depends on if Indy holds onto Manning another year and seeing how Painter can't lead the Colts out of a paper bag, they might wanna invest in a QB of some sort. |
Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
Just in case Barkley, L. Jones, Luck, and Griffin III all decide to stay in college for the senior years, the Redskins need to keep a watchful eye on potential trades to land a QB. If not that, then they should be in the know of which QBs will be free agents come early march.
Are there any actual senior QBs that are worth of a 1st round selection? |

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
Nick Foles is the best Senior QB IMO. Tannehill is a senior, as is Weeden, and Kellen Moore.
I don't like Tannehill, he's too inconsistent, and is still learning the QB position. Weeden is too old. He'll be 30 in two years. Kellen Moore I like but you can't all your hope in him that he'll be the answer with so many scouts doubting his potential. Nick Foles is 6'5 240lbs, with a strong arm, accurate, 4 year starter, has good awareness, and plays with WR's that aren't 'number inflaters' for him. |

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
I simply don't trust MS to pick a QB and he shouldn't have the final say. It should be a decision made by the organization. But they must draft a QB with that first pick. I don't care if he doesn't fit your stupid "system" ...get the best guy Shanahan! .. you stubborn ass eogmaniac!!!!
After that they had damn well better draft some o-linemen. Enough is enough. What got this team 3 SB's was having a dominant o-line. A center and a guard is simply a must! I know some will want to get a wr, Bowe and Colston will be free agents. Just don't overpay, espeically for an often injuried Colston and an inconsistent Bowe. But they may have to go that route. And third, I really wouldn't worry about the defense. Get back Jenkins, put in Riley and let's roll with that. My point is when was the last time we had a offense that could consistently score some damn points? I think we'd have to go back to when we had Brad Johnson. This upcoming draft and free agent period has got to be geared 100% on offense. |

I agree. But here he just hasn't done a good job with that position..McNabb, shoving that Beck crap down everyone's throat. We're two years in and still don't have a QB. So with such a crucial pick that they simply can't afford to miss on, everyone should have a say and hopefully everyone will. |

I've seen a few Arizona games this year. No question the guy can sling it. |
Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
If a guy like Moore is available in the 3rd or 4th, it would be worth it to draft him in addition to taking a QB w/our 1st. I'm sure they'll at least find a UDFA or a late round qb to compete for a backup spot.

I'll be honest if he wasn't MS then I'd be calling for a new coach, some of his decisions have just been down right stupid.. 1. Trade JC 2. Trade for DM 3. Bring in Rex for DM (Trade DM and don't draft a QB?) 4. Talk up Beck like he's the starter 5. Start Rex instead 6. Bench Rex for Beck 7. Bench Beck for Rex ALL IN A 1 1/2 year span WTF Dude???? |
Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
JC needed a freshstart elsewhere.
I think that the organization made an attempt to suck for Bradford by keeping Zorn, knowing that he would be fired. It blew up in their faces when he went number 1. Most GM's would have made that move for DM because Reid covered his issues well in Philly. We were dupped. I think the staff knew before the year even started that this year would turn out this way so they are willing to bear through it to get to a Qb rich draft class this year. I think they should of made a stronger push for Matt Leinart. |

He made a lot of mistakes in Denver. Didn't get the axe until he refused to fire Slowik(hmmmmm, Dan might get the urge to fire Kyle....hmmmm). |

Or maybe in a wider perspective, the mistakes are simply the result of little too much delusion and a coach being a coach(win at all costs). He is going through mental purging right now and probably has smelled the flowers. He has no choice but engage in a rebuild or suffer even more of his own personal embarassment(shutout, 5 losses in a row). If his ego is as big as it is, the wounds must be critical now and he would finally be motivated to build this team the right way. I'm willing to give him a chance to do that, and hopefully he does do that. |
Re: Build the Redskins for 2012
I am a broken record on this topic but identify and draft the franchise QB in April AT ANY COST. There is no more time to sit back and hope one falls from the sky...Make it happen!
I would also resign Laron Landry & Fletcher assuming the deals are reasonable. I would go after Vincent Jackson(unless he is franchised)...we need a #1 WR to help our young QB and we can't afford to just project one of our young players into that role. Add 2 new OL to the mix. Our season went to hell when Lichtensteiger went down. Losing one Guard should not destroy your offense. It's clear we have no depth there. |

In his defense, I think much of what's been done already is a rebuild, other than the McNabb trade. I think we should give him more credit for foresight than we do. He was out of coaching for a year & had a lot of time to study. He knew this team was a mess, a lot of that has changed even if we're not seeing wins. |

I don't think he ever hyped Beck up publically as much as others did 5. Staring Rex over Beck is always the right move 6 and 7. QB Shuffling is historically par for the course here, even in our best years |

His last few years in Denver were not real good and that's why he got fired. But I hope Snyder doesn't fire the guy. We need some stability around here. But I would not have him doing personel anymore cause he's proven that he can't get in done in that area. Let the scouts do their job. |

Ok this is where I show how smart I am. lol. NOT. I don't get the whole "red shirt" stuff. I know, I know. Poke fun all you want I can take it. Atleast I hope. lol.
The term redshirt freshman indicates an academic sophomore (second-year student) who is in his first season of athletic eligibility. A redshirt freshman is distinguished from a true freshman (first-year student) as one who has practiced with the team for the prior season. The term redshirt sophomore is also commonly used to indicate an academic junior (third-year student) who is in the second season of athletic eligibility. After the sophomore year, the term redshirt is rarely used, in favor of fourth-year junior and fifth-year senior.
So if I'm reading this are you saying he's in his fourth-year of school but is considered a Junior because of being red shirted? |
