Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Well I'd say you sign him immediatly if possible only so he can start learning the new play calls for his new team. Secondly your gunna want to get him on some form of rehab schedule. Hopefully it's Vet min. with a ton of incentives but it has been mentioned here before that he probably won't accept that. I'd imagine some decent contract that has an out if he can not start come Sept.
That isn't happening. I'm sure it'll be a favorable contract for both sides, with it being incentive laden, but it definitely won't be Vet min. McNugget on the other hand will be lucky to get a vet min deal. |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
I really don't want to spill all the beans, but I do believe the Redskins have no interest in Wayne. Maybe if he takes some low-ball contract, but otherwise I doubt he'll be here if Peyton comes.
There's a list of others, as the talks get heated up more with them, I'll post it up. I know we have a couple linemen, WR's and QB's (backups) in FA we're looking at.
Are any of the top tier WR's(playmakers) on that list? If so, are any of them headcases? (This question should help me eliminate possible players in my mind) haha |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Already like the forum already for two main reasons besides it being good with posting. a) Not overcrowded by any means. b) Color scheme is easy on the eyes.
You are right, we probably would take the division to be honest, but I didn't want to jump the gun too much and get my hopes up. Yeah, it's something along that line, but definitely not BA, MS or KS.
Thanks for the info. Well it is the offseason it is the time for us Skins fans to get our hopes up. ( only to be crushed once we play the games :) ) |

You guys should visit my Youtube channel. I create several Redskins highlight videos.
If any of you watched a Ryan Kerrigan, Roy Helu, and/or Fred Davis 2011 highlights video, that was me! RealEffinG212's Channel - YouTube |

None are "headcases" nor have had off the field problems from what I remember. |

Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Here's the next question really once PM is release.
When do you sign him? The main thing right now is the nerve regeneration and his throwing strength. You can't have draft plan thinking you'll sign him after the draft and because he could decide to go elsewhere, leaving you stranded. So do you sign him prior to the draft even knowing his nerves haven't regenerated yet? I understand it'll be a incentive laden deal, but even so, it's still risky. So do you just roll into the draft without Peyton in your plans, and then sign him in May/June? I'm glad I'm not having to make this decision.
He's Petyon Manning. You sign him ASAFP or someone else will. |

I think VJax is one strike away from a 1 year suspension for substance abuse. I would cross him off my list...we already have 2 in that boat and can't afford another one. |

We must have the same list then |

Sounds good. Thanks! |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Jsteelz @Jsteelzextreme
Manning, Orton, RG3, Chase Daniels, all on Radar, Skins, will make big push for RG3
Nothing new here, but same info that's been flowing. Wonder if they'll still make that push for RGIII if Manning is acquired. I would think they would then drop back and pick up a developmental guy instead.
None are "headcases" nor have had off the field problems from what I remember.
I find this a bit odd when it comes to Vjax. Two years ago, Mike was acquiring about trading for Vjax, but AJ Smith wouldn't budge on his asking price. Now, two years later and no occurrences and they aren't interested? That puzzles me. Good news is, HELLLL NOOOEZ to DJ!!! :food-smil |

Still get Peyton on an incentive deal but enough uncertainty surrounding his availability that they still need to be aggressive about getting a QB in the draft also. Win-Win... |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Daniel, as I understand it, is one of several QBs being considered for a back-up role with the chance to compete for a starting spot. But our franchise hopes...unfortunately...are not going to be resting on Chase's shoulders. Not as far as I'm aware.
And, I'd love to be wrong on this (maybe) but my gut still tells me we're not going to make quite the push for RG3 that's been speculated . |

Sounds like the only way they'll take him is if he drops to them, no trading up for him will happen. Or have you heard we don't want him entirely? |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Yeaaaaah this is not good...
Peyton cannot throw to his left
No problem. he can turn to his right and reorient himself by 90 degrees and then make the throw which will now be same as a right side throw |

The impression I've gotten from some is that the consensus love for him isn't as strong as would seem. All in for Luck? Sure, everybody could get behind that. All in for RG3? Maybe not as much |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Yeah I've heard that as well. Heard that Kyle really likes Weeden also.
|

:laughing- Reminds me of that scene in Caddyshack 2 where the guy had such a horrible slice he turned him at a 45 degree angle just to hit straight...lol |
It's great basically the redskins are interested in almost every QB that's available lol.. so there's our answer

This reminded me of an e-mail Bill Simmons posted during the season... "If I take over today as coach of the Colts, I will activate Manning and put him right next to Painter in the shotgun. I would have Manning call out the signals/audibles and then turn to Painter and tell him exactly what to do when the ball is snapped to him. When Painter receives the snap, Manning would run backwards 10-20 yards just to get out of the way and ensure that he would not get hit. Wouldn't you play 10 on 11 just to have Manning do that? P.S. — I am not joking." |

Hmm. Had heard Kyle-Foles, Mike-Cousins, both kind of Tannehill But that may also be because I'm in denial about Weeden. I'm an ageist |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
Yeah that's a big problem with Weeden, otherwise he'd be damn good.

Are you confusing Mike Florio and Mike Lombardi? |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
One factor regarding PM's ultimate destination is which coaches he's previously enjoyed working with and where they are today...yes? I don't follow coaching changes enough to even speculate.

Well he seemed to like Mike Shanahan a lot... Peyton Manning on Mike Shanahan - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post |
Re: QB Apocalypse: The Seventh Sign
If he (Peyton) does have coaching connections with San Fran or NY Jets though it would seem highly likely he would want to go to one of those spots. San Fran especially as that team is a Peyton Manning away from winning one or two SBs IMO.

Dated to be sure and if that pro bowl was the only time they actually worked together it's not much of a connection. Curious if Mike and Peyton have ever had a working lunch/dinner etc? |

I'm pretty sure that was Florio that said that during a radio interview over superbowl week. Could be wrong on that though. |

Well thats why as I said, someone else, maybe you IDK, said incentive laden contract, but if I remember correctly there was some issue with that as well. In any event if we don't have to sign him for 28 mill then we will have done pretty well. I would guess 10-15 mill with whatever incentives are allowed and possibly an out or reduction in pay if he can't play day on in Sept. |
