|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
I think the Skins traded down.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Did we really just trade our pick?
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
looks like we traded down again, with the steelers this time
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
I'm in your draft....taking your picks.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Interesting. Could they use him as good trade bait if he has a good preseason? It will put pressure on RG3 not that he needs it but could give him a reality check. It is good to have a good back up also. Cousins is a winner. Is he comparable to Tom Brady in where he got picked? He could be.

119 now

Les Miles: "You know Kirk Cousins is a great pick. At LSU we had TWO Quarterbacks."
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
And we traded down..more picks to pick backup QB's. Kellen Moore? Austin Davis? Aaron Corp anyone?
|

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
So instead of taking our new Shiny QB's Center that he's been working so hard to get pub out for to get drafted.... We pick up competition for him??
Wow... definitely no superstar treatment already... Actually I'm kinda thinking that's a pretty harsh turn of events. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
why wouldnt we have been interested in ta'amu? high grade, perfect fit for a nose tackle. we trade back to pick up another 6th rounder instead.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Alameda, that NT, goes to Pitt. Looks like we didn't actually have much interest.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Theres still some great Safeties on the board Iloka, Martin
|
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
GREAT TE goes to San Diego...they know how to draft.

Keep in mind this is an investment not only in a QB that can win games for us if RG3 goes down but as a potential Matt Schuab trade down the line. |

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Dammit.....i gotta go to the grocery store......keep putting it off to see these picks.....then we trade down again.
|
So, what did we get for the trade?
|

I kind of thought we would pursue Iloka. Perhaps that was who we wanted/want. |

Probably a 7th round pick. Edit: Scott Brown @ScottBrown_Trib Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Steelers gave up their sixth-round pick to swap places with the Redskins in the fourth round. |

6th rounder |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
My gut reaction to Cousins was negative, but when I thought about it I realized I loved it for a number of reasons.
The best teams draft purely based off of talent. If we think Cousins was too good value to pass up, I love it. First of all RGIII is injury prone, and a good backup can be invaluable. Second of all, if Cousins is starting material, we can flip him for a high pick 4 years down the road. Third of all, it can be helpful for RGIII to have a fellow rookie qb that is gunning for his job. He won't feel as if he has time to get better just because he's a rookie if he has a fellow rookie breathing down his neck. |
Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
anyone know what we got for the 4th?

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3
Does anyone hear really believe that anyone in the Skins front office will even imply that Cousins will have a chance to compete for the starting job in 2012 or 2013?

Definitely not. He's clearly a developmental type of guy, will be groomed to be a backup, possibly traded in a few years if he's impressive in the preseason or limited regular season action. |
